Two elderly women on the bus home today having a conversation about different types of garden birds, was probably the highlight of the day. It was pretty boring and inaccurate in parts, but the interest and sincerity with which they spoke was enjoyable. I know I shouldn't be listening to other people's conversations on the bus, but everybody does.

Also, T.R. Knight (George from Grey's Anatomy) revealed today that he was gay. For some unfathomable reason, that made me smile too. Not to sound like Kali, but the hair rivals David Tennant's.

Oh! The happiest thing about today, is the fact that I don't have to sleep on an inflateable mattress while at college anymore! Maybe my spine will finally return to its original shape.

Waking up at Tante Ra's house (where I was brung up), looking out of the window at a wild and wooly sea, just 20 metres away, crashing up the beach...

I will buy that house one day. I will.

Today's happy came when I got into an impromptu race along Rotten Row in Hyde Park. I passed a horse rider who decided to lay down a gallop. I flipped through a few gears and stood on it to a nice 28mph on an uphill.

I didn't win but it was fun to face off against a horse anyway. I've not done that before. I did win the daily thrash down Constitution Hill though, but I usually do.

Triplets, when you asked those questions, were you expecting an answer or were you posing one of the secret code recognitions which parallel the Order of teh Sphinx? And am I? Please note that this post contains all the letters requires in the Roman (also known as Arabic!!23!) alphabet necessary to spell "Hammon".

Yes, Tom's silly thread gave me a bedtime happy.

Wow, I am so content. I have been buzzing away in my workshop. My lover gave me a lovely rotary tool. I have been playing with it for hours. Now, it's not the much desired Dremmel, but it's good putterin' around fun.

TOOLS ARE COOL!

The best part of this: My lover was actually listening and being encouraging of my aspiratons. What a great family I have.

Never thought I'd get a first printing at cover price with no shipping. Is magical!

3) I got offered a place in the Master of Design Science (Design Computing) course at my uni. Which I will take. Master!

I'm watching Dog Borstal. Firstly, lots of cute doggies are making me happy. Secondly, Sheena may be recalcitrant at times, but she has nothing on these monsters. She's way better behaved than the way they're trying to get these dogs to be. It's nice to know.

Clothes, as usual, are the quickest way to my happy.

Found a new charity shop five minutes from where I work OMG!

Admittedly it's mostly full of unsaleable shit, but last week I found a fab pair of black leather knee-boots - sort of like more practical riding boots - for Ģ4 and today I picked up a black Fascinator (a bit like the one below) for Ģ1.

I am so wearing it to my friend's Hallowe'en party on Saturday.

The on-going adventures of Ben Chatham might be familiar to those with access to Outpost Gallifrey. For those who can't read it, I give you the (probably soon to be deleted) Wikipedia article.

Classic stuff.

This is genius.

Ben claims to play the violin, piano and guitar but shows no evidence of this. However, he spends most of his time listening to the works of "classical artists" including Radiohead, Morrissey, David Bowie, ABBA, Philip Glass, Stravinsky, Webern and The Pet Shop Boys (it is not a coincidence Sparacus also rates these artists highly). Ben also enjoys the theatre (amateur dramatics) and "fine literature" - and despite his claims to be a great science fiction fan, rarely reads it or shows any imagination. Ben has a love for ancient and medieval history, with a special interests in the Knights Templar. He is an alcoholic, and regularly drinks himself asleep at night. He is also something of a snob and disapproves of anyone in the lower classes who is unable or unwilling to better themselves. He has no sympathy for chavs, though what he defines as a chav changes quite a lot.

As is:

The TARDIS is drawn off-course and arrives at Stonehenge where an archaeological excavation is underway. Two parties of school children arrive, one from Sloan Comprehensive in Dagenham and the other from the private school St Anselms. A strange boy named James uses a hand-held device to turn the school children violent and they start attacking each other. The only teacher to escape this affect is the St Anselms' Head of History Sarah Jane Smith. The fighting suddenly stops as the Doctor arrives and greets Sarah. Ben learns from the radio that fighting has broken out across the world, and the TARDIS crew decide to go to the local hotel rather than investigate. Strange lights are seen at Stonehenge and Ben decides to investigate with Rose in tow. The boy James is revealed as a half-human alien spore using the powers of Stonehenge to trigger wars on Earth that will destroy mankind and leave the planet for aliens to invade. The Doctor, Sarah, Rose and Ben "combine their mental powers" and reduce James to "a stream of cosmic energy" and banish him to his home planet.

Last quote that I'll pull from the wiki article. Promise.

I always seem to post in this thread while I am drinking whisky. Well, that is because whisky makes me happy, yeah!

Tonight I am happy because I have received my first pay since emigrating and that makes me feel settled. I am also drinking a good whisky which is cheap as chips here, eating pistachios and listening to the Stooges. Life, does not get much better.
