Let us not forget Stuff On My Cat.Com, where the cats almost always have this look on their face of either patient suffering or iminent murder. Some of those cats look like they're about to jump onto the photographer, latch onto hir throat, and start smacking them around for the insult.
I reckon there are two other possibilites: One is total and utter not-giving-a-fuck. Subtly different from patient suffering. The other is confusion, which is the one my parents' cat is most likely to give you - he's not vicious enough to attack, and he's not the brightest, so he'll just sit there and stare at you in disbelief.
And Mist, Isn't it mostly dogs, that insist on thoroughly licking people? - not if my parents' cat is anything to go by. He'll lick your hands/arms when he's being cuddled, and he'll sometimes lick the legs of people wearing shorts. Not "thoroughly", mind you. Just a bit, but the tongue is indeed very rough... |
