OK, some of her business decisions sucked (but then, don't ALL business decisions suck by definition), but overall she was OK.

Just heard an old interview with her on the CBC and she wouldn't stop going on about how much she loved the Cowboy Junkies so she was okay, I guess.

Oh, and her use of animal-tested cosmetics also sucked while she was trying to portray the "animal-friendly" thing, (it was that Category 1/2 thing) but she still gave the cause some media-friendliness. I think her intentions were good.

While it's almost always quite sad when anyone dies, I can't honestly say there's an Anita Roddick-shaped hole in my heart at the moment.

She did her best, I suppose, going to the rain forests, respecting the wisdom of the ancients, etc, and making herself very wealthy in the process. Well, fair enough.

But, during the Eighties, I developed a rather nasty complaint in an intimate area courtesy of a Bodyshop treatment, one that plagues me to this day.

So, while I don't wish she's in hell at the moment, or anywhere like that, I do like to think that if there is a God, Ms Roddick's soul is now burning a little bit in a particular part of its astral anatomy. And that the throne in heaven may prove to be a place that it's hard for her to approach, without tears in her eyes.
