Yo! What's the haps, bitches? I should really have waked this baby this morning... sorry I'm late. I had such a full day of moving things and talking to people, I can't tell you. Then I came home and, like, went running and took a shower and watched Mean Girls. Gosh, that Lindsay Lohan sure is pretty. I have to confess, I got a little teary-eyed, but I always feel so left out by these movies. There's never anyone who resembles me in the slightest, or the me I was in high school--whatever. It makes me feel like a talib* or something.

Also, I ate a mini-bagel fluffernutter. Living in the suburbs is turning me into some kind of... of... I dunno what.

Now I'm going to bed.

* Eh, 'lula? You like that? Is "talib" better than "schweinerei"? How about "scrofulous," you like that? Crapusculate? Pratemnatious? Abtelloscene?

Talib is not better than schweinerei, since schweinerei is one of the best words ever. And also real, which helps.

The other words you are proffering? I am not sure you can go around making up random words which vaguely sound like something else, can you? Don't you have to be a Professor or something? Isn't there a law for that?

Take Crapusculate for instance. It's clearly not a word. But it is nearly a word; I think you meant to write CrEpusculate. But I have to say that in fact this would also still not be a word because the actual word is Crepuscular.

You appear to be peering in the dimness at your words and getting them slighty wrong.

I don't like scrofulous very much because it's a little bit too near scrotum for my liking, and scrotum is not one of my favourite words.

Favourite things for sure,...just have a problem with the word itself, you know.

I don't know what Pratemnatious or Abtelloscene mean and neither does dictionary.com. so they must belong to you. Are they your words and have you created them especially for this thread? I find myself leaning towards abtelloscene, which feels like somewhere between innocent and obscene - and possibly to do with happily wearing horrible party hats.

What do they mean?

Goddamit. Don't make me wait.

I actually was trying to write "crepusculate," but I don't have your prescriptivist bent. Something crepusculates when it becomes increasingly crepuscular, as with the friscular crepusculation of autumn.

Abtelloscene, I believe, refers to an aversion to counting (not to be confused with "obtelloscene," counting in darkness). Pratemnation is a form of congratulation, especially by a professional or academic organization.

Scrofulous is just stupid, you're right. Pratemnations!

Just for the record, I bet my Weekend Warriors was less cool than yours. Mine involved dressing up as elves and orcs and rangers and hitting one another with latex swords.

Warriors…Come out to play-ay!

...

All you hyperliterate souls may enjoy making new words for inclusion in the Collins dictionary.

Examples from the Independent newspaper are "geribanger: A woman who furthers her career by seducing older men of influence and power","saganaut: elderly, middle-class person with predilection for educational travel"; "mauble: a verb to describe boring, interminable conversation";"emailancholia: depressed and miserable state of mind arising from overuse of computer emails"; "nibling: a generic term for a niece or a nephew".

Those are stupid. Not like "crepuscle," a unit of darkeningness.

I just got me a Capital One card! Yeah, I know, Compound interest and what have you, but cash flow problems = me living off of this thing this month - just in time for Mrs The Ball (TBC) getting over here and being loved in the most incredible way.

You'll be needing that card, Benny, what with NOT being about to win the £50...

What? You can win some money? Where, how? Have I missed something?

Aaah, really, who cares. It´s probably a scam. Not worth the bother.

Not really here, just poppin'in to say "Hello". I'll be back next week. Horrid horrid cold. Nose is so raw from blowing it it looks like a Tom Savini special fx. Vancouver was amazing, this place (where Im at now, not the 'lith) is alright (I do have horses run by the window when I wake up). I've given up on my dreams of having my own cult as it seems my 3 year old niece is already far more in tune with it than I could ever hope to be.
Thats all for now...
G'night Barbelith, wherever you are...
