Sax - Funnily enough, playing at the fringe this year was someone who started doing stand-up in the open-mic thingies when I was at uni (and who was fairly rubbish) who was being touted as a possible Perrier winner. Rothkoid understands my pain. But I'm not bitter about the success of a no-talent person who wasn't even funny then and probably isn't now. Oh no.

Hmm, maybe I should do a show next year. The comedy stylings of a bitter Australian hiding in Scotland and waiting for the world to realise that it owes him a living.

Speaking of kid's shows, when I was growing up there was one called Come On Kids. I can't imagine a name like that being used these days.

In London Bridge train station there are a series of posters for childrens discounts on train travel. They are unfortunately designed and unfortunately placed in the station so that, when rushing for a train, you don't notice the writing at the top that explains what the offer is but are immediatly hit by the strapline "Love kids for £1". What?!?

For the longest time, the gas company here was called People's Gas. But then they wised up & changed that to People's Energy.

There was a place where I used to live that sold soup and hot dogs called Soup Doggy Dog. I was amused. Fashizzle.

there's (perhaps was) 'rude mercs' on the road between whitechapel and bethnal green, and next door to that, 'rude bimmers' (to rhyme with zim-zimma), both selling cheap german gangsta motors to wannapimps.

and a salon for old dears in worthing called, rather sweetly, 'lovely hair'.

Two pub names that I forgot about - the infamous Golden Stool in Tottenham invokes lots of juvenile turd references whenever I see it, and Blackpool's premier gay pub, The Flying Handbag, which is aptly named after witnessing countless fights between beered-up faghags fighting over whose go it is on the pool table.
