I’m doing a bit of stand-up/spoken word at Cottiers theatre in Glasgow tonight(Saturday), exploring themes of possible interest to Barbelithers, including magick, the future and Islamic astronauts (!?)

The show is actually Frankie Boyle & Rev Obadiah Steppenwolf III – I’m on as a support act.

Apologies to lithers whose comments have been stolen/adapted to provide me with material (Ganesh, Gypsy Lantern and Rizla)

Come along and heckle or , kind of, stare at me in sinister, appraising fashion

Wow, good on you hon. It can be pretty intense psyching yourself up to get on stage. I echo Ariadne here, how did it go man!??!

My mathematician stand-up routine got polite laughter, and has been shelved. I'd love to hear a report on how yours went.

Sheesh – man, it was tough. I managed to do it but it was quite difficult to control the crowd. It was less of a normal comedy audience, more mad stag night people.

Think my put-downs were a bit lame. At one point a guy at the back started screaming while I was talking about Buddhism, and I was like “naw man, it’s OMMMM”, which got polite laughter. And a girl who started using her mobile phone in the front row put me off slightly. I should have told her to shut the fuck up but didn’t manage to think of a funny thing to say…

I don’t know – it’s hard to know how it went. I enjoyed it but came off feeling slightly shaken… Finished up with the Terminator theme music and apocalyptic ranting, which I’ve done before… Yeah, the old psychic shields will take a few days to get back to maximum levels again

Thanks all. Heheh - I'd love to see you doing stand-up ghadis. And the mathematician routine sounds intriguing. We should run our own event at the Edinburgh festival or something :D
