Late Shift Nostalgia

I've just been given an humane day shift, by the powers that be, and already I'm missing the perks of unearthly hours, and late night channel four. Admittedly I get to be a human being again, but that never particularly excited me in the first place. Would anyone like to share their woe?

I worked shifts, as a nurse, unrelentingly for decades. There were all sorts of benefits, though many drawbacks too. About five years ago I became a nine to five (-ish) man and can't say I have had a single regret, if that's any comfort, #48. I will never be happy getting up in the morning but when I worked nights I seemed to permanently asleep between shifts.
