How much time does it take to a moderation action be active?

After the agreement by another moderator, how much time does it take until the action is effective? I just agreed on a topic-deletion action, but the thread is still showing up...

Topic delete takes more than two, I think.

Oh, I see.

Topic delete requires three mods to agree. One of the mods on Creation is largely on hiatus. Therefore, 75% of the effective moderator complement have to agree it before the thread will be deleted. If one or two of those mods are either not around or unwilling to delete, the thread could hang around indefinitely.

Once it's been agreed, it seems to be pretty much instantaneous.

Yup - once it has the requisite number of votes it is indeed roughly instantaneous. We have a couple of administrators now in addition to myself who can vote on any moderation actions that are outstanding, but that may not be enough. Maybe it's time to open it up even more?

Possibly - for example, IIRC, the Creation is modded by me, Nick, Sav, Jade and Zoom. Zoom is pretty busy with real world stuff about now, so that leaves a quorum of four, plus two administrators. There again, in, say, the conversation Grant is presumably allowed only one vote rather than being able to vote as administrator and mod, so in situations like that the quorum is functionally reduced....it seems to be rocking along OK, though, at least for now, although I can see instances where more modding might be necessary.

Maybe make Nick an administrator? He's usually around, he's active in a lot of forums, and he is already modding about three...

Tom knows not to give me too much power... otherwise he'll wake up one day and I'll be HAL to his Bowman.
