I was minding my own business, watching Ordinary People, Best Picture winner of 1980, directed by Robert Redford, never having seen it before. And in one scene, a 15/16-year old bully-type talks trash to our young protagonist, a teenaged Timothy Hutton.
And I said to myself, "Holy shit, that looks and sounds like a young Adam Baldwin! Gotta check the credits."
And lo and behold, Adam Baldwin is a trash-talking tough-guy jock in 'Ordinary People.' The seeds of Jayne were planted early. I'd never heard of Baldwin other than his role in Full Metal Jacket and Firefly/Angel, so this was shocking to me to see that he'd been a child actor. Had to tell someone; and this was the only place I thought would be appropriate to post about it. Carry on. |
