I've been busy with lots of stuff, like being skint. But yeah. Why not. Are you thinking about the TG on August 24th?

Actually, Cholister, you've just preempted me... me and miss spooky are doing the Rubber Ball again in a couple of months (Monday 7th October, to be precise).

There's a whole weekend of stuff surrounding the thing, but we have not the time, and neither the money, to do the whole shebang, so we've going to the party Monday night, which is the Ball. I believe we've roped a number of Southampton peeps into it, including the evil Ma'at, slash queen formidable... anyone interested?

(Oh my god. I reached my posting limit for the first ever time today, so couldn't post before now. It's very exciting - I feel that I have truly become a Barbelither. Do I get the membership card now? A free toaster or alarm clock?)

Ok, enough of that. Lurid - yes, the TG on the 24/08 was my initial thought... but if what Jack suggests appeals more to people for a proper-ish meet, I for one am fairly happy to trot along...

Yeah, I've never been to the Rubber Ball so would be keen on that. Still, TG would be good too. I want to do both, but not sure I can afford it. I suppose what I'm really saying is that I want to be told what to do.

But, uncharacteristically, I am going to make a decision and say that I would like to go for the August one. Not that I'm ruling out the rubber ball, but I think I'll be going to the August one anyway. The last TG barbemeet was really cool, and I can assure anyone who is interested, but unsure, that you will be among friends. And safe.

'Nesh: Can't see any discernable theme as yet. The flyer looks to be vaguely medical, which is kind of the default state for the TG.

Nice?! I guess... depends exactly how nice. Honestly, the vagaries of 'dress code' requirements are ephemeral at best... provided you don't look too casual (in other words, as if you've made at least a smidge of an effort to get into the spirit) I'm sure you'll be fine, Ruth.

At last count we had Ruth Gordon, Cholister, Ganesh, ZoCher, Lurid Archive, Mordant Carnival, myself, miss spooky and Ma'at up for it... are all of the above still able/willing? I dunno, since the last thread and since various discussions online and off about Torture Garden, dress codes, and the relationship between BDSM and the culture in which it's often couched (in theory and praxis), I've sort of decided it's not for me. I think you need to fulfill at least two of three basic criteria to want to go to something like this: an interest in/liking for the music; an interest in/liking for dressing up; and an interest in/liking for BDSM. I score 1-with-qualifiers - 'nuff said.

Not meaning to sound all serious and pompous or in any way to rain on anyone else's parade, but... was sort of asked, so just thought you should know. Anyone who wants a more detailed explanation can PM me.
