Just booked a ticket for the The Wrestling Channel Super Show in March which fills me with nerdy glee.

You must run on stage and perform your finishing move, which is now called the Hari-kari Scary Sweary Care Bear, from the stairs onto a steel chair.

On the racism tip, Aragones finally held to account as well. He could have avoided this. He chose not to. I used to have a lot of time for him, but right now I'm hoping they take away his license.

Tryphena Absent
19:49 / 15.12.04
First Nick Griffin gets arrested and then Blunkett resigns. I'm getting paid real, live money on Friday and nothing bad has happened this week, not one bad thing. This is possibly the best week of 2004 ever.

My MP3 player arrived today. My inner techno-geek is jumping up and down with joy.

I went on a date on Friday (first one in aaaaaaaaages) and it was really nice.

And I was the one who asked him out, which is a total first for me! w00t!

There's an old black dude with an alto saxophone sitting in front of the Art Museum, cranking out jazzy Christmas carols. The acoustics are such that it sounds like he's right in front of my office, and he is good. I'm tapping my foot under my desk.

Cheery festive happy warm holiday gooshiness!

Benny the Ball
01:55 / 22.12.04
I'm eleven hours away from boarding a plane to LA for christmas. This makes me very happy. I'm 21 and a 1/2 hours away from the arms of Mrs The Ball. This makes me very, very happy.

The Strobe
12:28 / 23.12.04
Full A4 page, national press, feature article. Essentially uncut from what I submitted. Happy happy happy - plus a nice little bonus in the new year.

12:44 / 23.12.04
Wow. I woke up this morning next to my friends mum. He's gonna kill me, but it was a great night.

I'm a dead man.

Woohoo it's Christmas.

Snow Day Today! Home from work 4 hours early with pay! Woo! Everything's coated in a layer of ice and is ever so nice!

21:52 / 23.12.04
There was an interview with Dizzee Rascal in the Metro today with the funniest editorial intervention. He was referring to some shows he did where he "got a bad [meaning good] reception". I was giggling all the way home on the bus.

Bed Head
00:00 / 05.01.05
Yeouch. I fell off a ladder this afternoon.

Awful moment when you realise you’re falling and you think: that’s it, I’m going to die. What with this being a ladder perched at the top of two unlit flights of stairs, and me being completely out of control. And then I manage to land without tumbling or buckling, and somehow I manage to stop the big, heavy, metal cabinet I was holding from getting dented, by cleverly cushioning it’s landing with my shin (note to self: the instinctive response is the bloody stupid response). There’s an audible crunch and I think, oh shit, I’ve must’ve broken my leg. Must’ve.

And then, realising it’s not broken, somehow, and I’m not dead, somehow. At which point there’s a split-second window of happiness before the pain hits.

So: yeouch. I’ve got a bruise the size of God. But! I’m not yet dead or otherwise snapped into bits. And I got bought a six-pack for saving the cabinet like that.

The happy ending is what makes it.

I've just won the philosophy undergraduate essay competition! A big fat £500 cheque should be winging its way to me soon... Huzzah!

Woo! Bed Head aten't dead! (imagine this as a punk rock anthem)

I have a job interview for a job I really, really, really want. Get wanking, all you magical types!

I should really go and write the presentation for it, shouldn't I? I have a new suit, though, so it seems hardly worth going through the formality of preparing what I'm going to say...

It's nearly enough to make me crumble and loose my nearly 1 week long record....

I just bought a copy of DJ/rupture's wonderful Gold Teeth Thief. And yeah, I know you can download it, but dammit, I *want* to and can afford to buy it (a grand total of £7.50 inc. shipping). (and the sound quality is bound to be loads better than the MP3 on my super-shiny stereo)

So shiny diaspora-crossing beats are on their way to meeeeeeee.

And, there's a free download of his post-election Resonance mix here. Wheeeeee!

I found a big Kit-Kat (those chunky ones) in my desk drawer at work, so I ate it. I never eat big Kit-Kats (although I will now because they rock) and I don't know where it came from, but that's not the happy bit.

Inside the wrapper I found a passcode for a competition (that's not the happy bit either) so I typed it into the box online and forgot about it until ten minutes ago when I checked my email and found out that I've won an Incredibles radio.*

* I don't actually want or need an Incredibles radio, but it's not the taking part, it's the winning. It's still exciting. You know. I've never won anything except a talking Mickey Mouse when I was little and that's only because the lady on the stall at the fete felt sorry for me, and because no-one else had guessed his holiday destination correctly earlier in the day.

So, for the record, talking Mickey Mice go on holiday to the Isle of Man.

Just in case you ever find yourself faced with that question.

I've got a new job! One that I'm a little bit nervous about, as it's a change from what I've done before, but I'll be working with three lovely people who claim (and this is from the boss, so he should know) that they sit round all day drinking tea and listening to the radio. Ya beezer, the very job for me.
AND I'm about to go and look at gyms with a view to joining one. I've been getting slothlike and Scottish weather's not very cycling or running friendly, so now I can cycle and run indoors! Kind of like Center Parcs without the children.

Oh, wow, it's working!

I bought Want Two by Rufus Wainwright when I was in Germany over Christmas. It's an American import (I think it will be released in the UK in March) and it includes a live DVD (and I only paid the standard price of €16!). Couldn't get the DVD to work in Germany though because it's an American import, so I was convinced I wouldn't be able to watch in the UK either and didn't even try until now. But it's working! I'm watching it right now. Yay.

All that hassle over Christmas almost seems to have been worth it now.

Vincennes: Bringing Sassy Back
13:18 / 20.01.05
The DVD for Nick Cave and Shane MacGowan's What A Wonderful World. I just type those words and I know I am going to fail at expressing in words the joy it brings me but... it's camp and shit and awesome. They do little actions, fail to sing in time, sometimes Nick appears to be trying to gaze into Shane's eyes, sometimes Shane appears to be trying to focus, and they are sitting in front of a curtain made of tinsel. In all, it looks like kareoke time at the whiskey farm, and I had to watch it twice last night just to believe that such a thing really existed in the world.

This just made me laugh out loud:

Around the streets, marble plaques bore poetry by the city's flawed bard, George Trakl. "He was ugly, he had sex with his sister, he took masses of drugs, and he committed suicide," said Heidi. "But he wrote beautiful poetry."

Brilliant.

I am so very happy. Although, I cannot readily adopt a child myself, I have convinced a person who can to adopt one of the orphaned children from the tsunami in Asia. The women in the couple is a bit too old to have children this late in her life, but they do wish they had a daughter, (they have two boys). They are very excited to pursue this and are going to tell me how it goes with the process. I wish I could myself, but it feels very good to have inspired two people to do such a noble thing. They deserve a heaping spoon of love from the world, as far as I am concerned. Damn fine people.

Fuck, it is so nice to know they are out there.

Been accepted into the acting program at SMU (not the best but better than most). The admissions are decided by auditioning (monologue, song, etc.) and the application form says that the average reply is two to three weeks.

I received my acceptance letter two DAYS later.

Oh, yeah. Czerno"MuchoMojo"bog is TCB like a BMF.
