I'm still sticking most to /an/ but I've got to learn the way of the /b/. It's like having to wade through a river of poop/vomit/'and other bodily fluids' to find the shiny goodness of ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH.

explain yerselves, you bungling fools!!

Trolls have a tendency to troll one another. And even /b/ is not immune from lulzkillers.

And anyway, of course it wasn't /b/! It was EBAUMSWORLD.

Is it too soon at this point to say, "OH SHI-"

If the kid turns out to have been put up to it in any shape or form I'll definitely feel a little less happy about the world.

Today's happy is that I got a rare chance to wield my lab mod powerz to make the world a better place. Or fix a link anyway....

How long have you been a mod, gamma? When did that occur? Glad there was any activity to moderate.

I'm happy because we saw David Byrne last night and it was fantastic! We just made the show after a six-hour drive back from Savannah, we were thinking of blowing it off, but were so glad we didn't. Here is the list of shows, if any of you are able to see it, I highly recommend it. His voice is better than ever, and the set was great. Everyone was standing the entire time, people were dancing in the aisles. The encores were deafening. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough.

I just got a letter from my mom. Included was the following picture of my family home in its current form:

My parents live on the second busiest street of a very wealthy Republican enclave in Connecticut. They make me happy.

Yay for palace politics parents' political palace!
That's quite a bed of impatiens they have in front.

I'm happy eating fresh home-made apple pie made with apples from the trees in my yard. Delicious.

my mom is a fucking thug and a half when it comes to impatiens (and hanging petunias, of the "supertunia" varietal). the secret, for anyone who's interested: pots on all bedded flowers in view of the street. controls drainage, water, and nutrient issues. side beds are all in regular beds, and not quite as vital to "keeping up appearances".

Fuck Elvis.

We drove 2 1/2 hours, leaving dull dreary Ottawa for the splendor of Montreal.

There, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (And Nick's Moustache)truly rocked our world.

Truly.

They showed me love by playing The Mercy Seat.

My ears still ring.

I love this world.

Conquered the procrastination and anxiety enough to email some old profs for grad school reference letters. FINALLY. I like when I manage to beat down the Fear long enough to do something positive, no matter what the outcome turns out to be. So: happy.

Also, steamed salmon for dinner should be exciting.

There´s already a replacement, who is pretty much a carbon copy of Haider.

I just sent in my portfolio for one of my grad school applications. I still have a few more things to deal with for that particular application, but it's a big step. Doesn't feel like there's a going back point now.

My Mom Thinks I'm Cool

the wedding went very well! one person asked me what church I minister to. several people asked me where I looked up all the pretty things I'd said (I wrote em.) a couple of funny little blips, mostly due to everything happening late and no rehearsal taking place. also the bride experienced technical difficulties with her tear ducts so I ended up having to read out her vows for her. in the end, lots of thank yous.

pretty happy feeling! a friend at work found out and asked if I could do his too...maybe my non-religious friends have more respect for the religious guy than I'd assumed.

Ha! That was pretty cute, especially the Venn diagram. Those are always good for a chuckle.

Today has been a great day which looks like it's going to turn into a great week. Loads of excellent movies, loads of tv & film shoots, loads of nice meals, and the very best company you could hope for. I wish I could bottle this week for future enjoyment.

Snow! Not bad for October, I think it's close to two inches, and still going strong. Maybe this global warming thing is all over now. Right? I can't wait for the sun to come up to see how the colorful leaves will look with snow.
