Life in general can hardly get any better. With the way things have been going, I almost want to buy a lottery ticket; it seems like small beans to win.

I just got my ears syringed and now have an almost super-heroic level of hyper-sensitive hearing. I'm off to solve some crimes before it wears off.

That is totally now on my todo list. Itīs been years and I could have an alternate career as a bee with the wax that I can churn out.

I hugely recommend it COG. I went to my GP because I thought I had tinnitus. I still sort of hear the ringing in my ears, but the breadth and quality of sounds which I can hear again have almost totally covered it up. It isn't a time-consuming procedure either- it just took ten minutes.

Barring any unforeseen complications, my future niece will be arriving in the world sometime tomorrow evening.

That is just freaking awesome, for lack of a better way of putting it.

Kylie Minogue's birthday. Surely reason for us all to dance around to brittle, clinically-produced pop.

Dance you dogs!

Comics & back massage appointment & friend coffee hanging out & dinner party & sleeping with the Accomplice tonight after some nights apart. No part of today is going to suck.

This CIF thread is just bizarre. It's full of English football fans saying nice things about Germany. It's very, very strange. And quite sweet.

I became an aunt yesterday at 3:31 pm and ohmigod, she's awesome. Babies are like little naked angry monkeys and it is fantastic!

(6. lbs., 11 oz., 19 inches. Her name is Madeline Grace. I'll post pics when I get back home and can do it from my faster laptop.)

I just want to take a moment to say how wonderful I find hot peppers. Whenever I'm depressed there's nothing like some extreme chilli to clear my sinuses and give me that endorphine flush of sweet sweet pain.

It seems as if this guy, that I grew up with (he was the first person to give me a kiss sixty years ago) has now been run over, finally.

Half an hour left to go before I can leave work, there's still sunlight out which is completely bizarre, I have a stack of comics with me, I'm in the midst of a very good book by Charles Stross, I have the Accomplice waiting for me with a bowl of spaghetti with prawns, and there will be kvetching about BSG ahead as well. A very nerdy evening but a good one, as well.

Okay, now this was pretty much definitely going to be ace. I was just too hungover to participate. Now, look at the third person quoted and smile.

I am now pissed off at myself that I didn't go, but very happy nonetheless.

Ah, looks like it all got a bit nasty and the story's changed.

One of the commenters on the original was called "David Mudkips".

Fuckin' SAVED! I must have copied it last night...

David Mudkips, 25, a web programmer from Hackney, described the experience on the train as: "Like rush hour but fun. There were people's sweaty armpits in my face but I didn't care because I was drinking."

Guilty happy. I just cancelled my hike tomorrow morning so that I can go out and drink tonight and be a dirty stop out. Now I'm wishing that I had bought that bottle of whisky earlier today.

Also my blocked up ear cleared itself this morning after 6 days of deafness, and it's been a lovely day, and my new job is going well, and I still get Fridays off. All good.

I just performed my civic duty and correctly identified the criminal that carjacked one of my customers. In our parking lot. At 11 am. I'm glad they caught the guy.

Life is quite fantastic. There's not any one thing I can point to, it's more a general conspiracy on the part of many to make me incredibly happy. Work's great, friends are great, family is great, lovers are great, the pickup soccer games in front of the Natural History Museum are great.

My Mom Thinks I'm Cool
01:40 / 09.06.08
so this saturday I look my first sailing lesson onboard the historic schooner Pioneer. and it ruled all the ass. lots of rope coiling and learning bizarre nautical terminology and don't drop that beam or the guy over there will die. the best part is, it's all FREE - I signed up to be a volunteer at the Seaport Museum, and they need help sailing their ships on educational tours.

I have this to say to the fucks at the Merchant Marines academy with their stupid "no one over 24" rule and their tuition costs and blah blah blah...SUCK A FUCK ASSHOLES! I'M GOING TO BECOME A RUGGED SAILOR MAN ANYWAY!

I even get to learn obscure skills like navigation using stars instead of that puny GPS/radar shit...braiding rope...and probably at some point scraping barnacles or whatever. teh rock.

Today's trip to the art gallery to see Andy Warhol's work resulted in a little ficlet for the blog, another of my Futuropolis pieces. I have no idea if anybody even bothers to read them, but it's nice to pump something out and feel all heady and word-drunk afterward. Productive writing sessions always make me happy.

He obviously needs to send in a virgin.
