Roswell Screenplay

It's going to be my one year anniversary with my girlfriend in August and I'm going to write her a Roswell screenplay. Now, I started watching Roswell this last season because my she loves (or rather loved cause it's canceled now) the show, so I don't know enough to get it right. (see here for a bit more information.)

Basically, I want to make it a little more adult and more widescreen. Can I get some ideas from fans (I know you're few and far between, but...)

What would you like to see in a Roswell movie?

As a matter of interest, why don't you write something of your own?

ummm.... I take it that since this project is a gift for your girlfriend that you don't want to know my ideas about Shiri Appleby, so.... I would like to see Michael making a serious attempt to tale leadership of the aliens from Max.

Nick: Because, as we know, using other people's characters is not only big and clever, it also leads ineluctably to superior work.

Obviously.

And as for Shiri Appleby...E.T cloned Holmes.

How about, in much the same way that bearded, leather-clad Max returned from the future to break up His younger self and Liz, how about having each of the Royal Four coming back, but each from a different possible future, and all trying to change the course of ... dun dun DAH .... history. You could have them all changing all the time as the timestreams swing this way and that. CGI-tastic...

Haus: please, let's not go there. I'm asking because it seems like such an odd gift. Maybe that's just me. But one could write something along the lines of Roswell which was different, specific to one's intended target, and quite possibly better, since the show itself is patchy.

Dunno. Impulsivelad, feel free to ignore me.

nono, I understand the question exactly, Nick. I would much rather write something of my own but she was upset that the show was canceled and I thought it'd be nice if she had one more episode (or movie) with the characters she had grown to love. And yeah the show was a bit patchy but I'll try to keep my script unpatchy.

Now that makes perfect sense to me.

Now if it was me (and to be honest I never really took to the show), I'd write a screenplay where the cancellation of Roswell was a huge horrible Government plot or something, and the characters have to get to the bottom of it. Then they could exact vengence, or do something else closure-y.

OMG, this is the most romantic thing I have ever heard.

Persephone- Aw, thanks

Mordant C@rnival- That sounds cool. I'll try and think of a feasible plot along those lines.

This should be easy. I mean, I wrote a rather cool Buffy Script cause I couldn't wait 'til the start of the new season and I think about everyone in Miami has read it. So how hard should this be? (Pretty hard actually cause I don't know the characters as well...damn!)
