Would it be too much to ask for more options to fill in when it comes to member profiles? Websites, occupations, personal comments, attractiveness and so on.

I don't think it's too much to ask, but it might be too much to expect of Cal at the moment. Bear with us. I know it seems to be taking forever, but we've got some quite radical changes we want to make and it's going to require him to have a good clear week or so...

Does anyone else think Tom is getting quite Grant Morrison-ish now in his posts?
"Yeah, in year five Barbelith takes a radical change in direction as we introduce the eagerly awaited knitting forum and people are only allowed to post if the first write a thousand word essay on their favourite cheese. And a beloved fiction suit DIES!"

At least he's not asking us in the Magick ghetto to jerk off for the board.

Not recently, at least.

In other news, I don't see the point in more profile information. Who's going to put down "fuguly" or anything less that "super model beatiful" on an attractiveness query? People can put up their own sites and link them from the profile if they want to say more. I'd say that our webmasters' time is better spent doing other stuff.

Like drinking and dancing.

I like your style. PS - if you start a thread WRITE A GODDAM SUMMARY.

Who's going to put down... anything less that "super model beatiful" on an attractiveness query?

Me. An attractiveness query would be a great fuckwit detector. "Oh, wwell, you would disagree with so-and-so: ze's a 9 and you're only a 4."

PLONK!

Hehehehe.

My looks frighten small children and dogs. Mostly dogs.

But I'd never put that in my profile. Just a pic of me as a Naked Washing Machine Boy looking for a hug.

Lada:

No.

Tom's trying to provide us with more toys. At the same time, he's trying to get us to be intelligent about the functionalities we already have and never use - like linking direct to posts and summaries.

And lastly, he's insisting, gently, that we not clutter up this hard-created, time-consuming cyburban development with the intellectual equivalent of MacDonalds wrappers.

Sounds good to me.

I don't think we really want owt in the profiles except the basics, really: location, email and a link to a homepage. If you want to say more then you can easily run up a little Geocities site or something.

Erm. I think D was kidding about that "attractiveness" remark.

I could be wrong, though. But as a 10, I'd highly doubt it.

Yeah, I was kidding about that bit. Truth be told if I was being entirely serious, I'd have asked for a 'measurements' option instead. Something to let the guys really know who to listen to.

Has anyone ever met Tom? How do we know he isn't Grant Morrison?

Nah...

Everyone's met me. I'm a reclusive genius. I'm probably a super-villain. Super-villians were always the brilliant ones who got beaten up at school...

I used to dream of being worthy of being beaten up at school...
