Hey, I am on Barbe-quotes! That's so damn cool

And, as for the tattoo, I have to say I'm a big Transformers's fan. When I was a kid, they were my imaginary friends, so it has plenty emotinal meaning to me. I would have made the Autobots logo, but the Decepticon's is just cooler, y'know...

and remeber: "No one summons Megatron!"

Thinking about this, I remember seeing one in which someone so much like Nigel Marvin I think it was Nigel Marvin was walking around the paleozoic reacting to CGI basilosaurs as if it were a a genuine field documentary - speaking in hushed tones, like Attenborough among the silverbacks, lest he disturb the green screen.

Smoothly Weaving shatters the illusion in the "Walking With..." thread over in Film, TV & Theatre.

Haus, I think the "a girl!" bit in Tom's name refers to his kid.

we got drunk, aggressively spooned and SLEPT IN THE SAME BED

Fun with Phobias coins my new favorite phrase and possibly even new favorite sexual act (we'll see, once I try aggressively spooning) in his thread about unrequited loave. I can't look at it without giggling - I'll have to tape it to the fridge to cheer me up after a long day.

Does 'aggressive spooning' = 'sideways humping'?

My poor unrequited loaves, so desparately in love with the tortillas with whom they share the bread bin.

I can't believe how level-headed you're being, Haus. I'd have blown my top yelling at this person for awhile. Good for you for being patient with him.

Who knew that my second most favourite ever barbelith thread would also be in the Creation. I will defend that forum with my shin bones. Hard day at work: go to creation. Feeling a bit low: go to creation. Someone just died: go to creation.

What I like about that thread is that it quantifies exactly how many times dude was willing to type out:

no, its not big or clever.*
but it is funny!

Move on...you're acting like some spoiled kid, not having your way...do you always have to get the last word?

hawksmoor shows surprising self awareness when talking to himself in thread. strange that he calls himself 'totsik', mind.

*luckily i am both big and clever.

Oh wow. I was so overwhelmed by the first sentence, I didn't even notice the second. Wowowowowow.

Was it Douglas Adams wrote about the fundamental impossibiliy of debating the stupid? Maybe Tolstoi. I forget.

Goethe, possibly - "Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain"...

Actually, the Tolstoy (as it's correctly spelt, son) bit was me having a laugh. I'm sure I was reading some vaguely comic book in the last couple years had something along those lines; Tibor Fischer, most likely actually.

I wept, positively wept, while reading that thread, I was LOLling so hard. I had to stop in the middle because it just hurt. Toksik, you were so earnest, and kind.

I think my favorite (as we speak spell it here in God's Country) line was this precious gem:
Description sets the pace for a decent story and even more decent dialogue. I learned this in European Writing Linguistics, a class at NC State college in Raleigh, NC, which i attended for four years. If i'm wrong, then i suppose you'd better write them and tell them that they gave me top marks for that class for the wrong reasons, eh? LOL.

But, really, it's so hard to choose.
