Auspicious Arrival

Mazarine
03:18 / 19.04.02
My nephew arrived today! Dear gods, I was going through emotions I didn't know existed. He is wee, and beautiful, and every now and then he'd actually make eye contact, and it was like thunder straight to my chest. Perfect. Completely, utterly perfect. I am now somebody's Aunt. : )

Yaaaayyy! I love babies (so long as I can give'em back when they start smelling, that is.)

I'd just love to be an aunty.

Wheeeeee! [Tick, tick, tick] Wheeeeee! [Tick, tick, tick]

(celebration meets biological clock.)

Oh seriously Wemb. I used to despise babies and children, but now I'm like this monstrosity of maternal feelings. Just seeing this tiny person, a brand new being, holding him and knowing he wasn't more than 30 minutes new, and that he was part of my family now, I've never felt anything like that.

And thank you for the cheer, Mordant. I have no idea why I'm so proud, I didn't do any work, but I'm all puffed up like a little bird trying to get some. (Sorry, it's spring, my similies are going to go the way of Animal Planet)

congrats on his happy and healthy arrival!

Persephone

My biological clock was like one of those clock radios that has snooze built in; and I smacked it so many times, it's broken for good. Auntie is the role for me! I do love my nephew and niece inordinately. My niece is *just* me reincarnated, except that I'm not dead yet.

So congrats, Mazarine!

Congratulations A.M! I know exactly (almost) how you feel. I was the same way when my niece arrived..the best part is when she says your name...then you're hooked. Waiting for each new word like a bad drug habbit..it only get better (my niece is currently going through her terrible 3's)

Stoat-ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH

Congratulation! I used to hate kids until one of my mates started bringing his six-month-old with him to stuff. Now I hate myself for making cute baby noises in public.

Possibly should have said "with him to pubs/museums/exhibitions and the like". It looks kind of warped otherwise.
