I usually ask for a graphic novel for Christmas. That way I don't have to pay for it. (Like a Jimmy Corrigan Hard Cover) Ideas?

That's a rather nifty idea, mind if I copy?

Anyway, you could do worse than something like From Hell or Watchmen, if you haven't already got them. Or anything by Will Eisner - maybe a Spirit Archive volume, if you're lucky enough to be playing in the higher reaches ca$h-wise.

I just put a bunch of stuff by Dan Clowes and Paul Pope on my Xmas list. Don't expect in a million years that any relatives will consider getting them (after all, they're impossible to find and he's got more than enough of those damned funny books already), but hey, it's worth a shot.

Seeing in that Clowes' Ghost World, David Boring, Lloyd Llewellyn, Caricature, and Like A Velvet Glove Cast In Iron are readily available on Amazon.com and other online booksellers, I would hardly call them difficult to come by, save for in some stores that exclusively sell comics, but hey, that's their problem.

I would recommend getting David Boring. I was re-reading parts of it last night, and it seems to get better and better with subsequent readings... the bits with the folks talking about terrorists and germ warfare have a completely different feeling now, as you can imagine...

If someone would like to get me a nice xmas gift, the collected volume of Box Office Poison would really make me smile...

So, I just got "Pictures That Tick" into my store. It's sealed in plastic but I really really want to see what's in it.

Urgh.

I flicked through it...It's got a couple of stories i've already got...The classic 'lillie' that appeared in The Residents Freak Show a few years back, The 2 page story from Windows. A mixture of his clean 'cages' style stuff and more painted/photoshop stuff...Very nicely produced...YUm..

He's doing a signing in London today so i may wait until him and the crowds have gone and nip in for a signed copy...I'm not keen on busy signings...
