Kali and Television

I've built a shrine to this lovely, and my life hasn't quite been the same since.

However, prior to this, I noticed a number of people who have images or statues of her, the majority of which seem to be about, above or in television sets. One fellow I know wrote a poem about it.

Does anyone have any inkling about this trend? I'm wondering if there's a message in there somewhere that I'm missing (there are precedents).
