Sure thing, Arkady, but those are celebrities, whereas Arkady Hodge is a chap. I mean, I'm sure lots of people like and appreciate his work on Pictish history, but he's not "gone big", to my knowledge, the way Darcus Howe or Harrison Ford (in a battlesuit, wheels for feet, knives and guns) has ... I was just wondering if that was the Arkady Hodge, or an Arkady Hodge, or someone who liked the name, or if it's all an incredible coincidence.

Well, it's a combo of an imaginary character from childhood, an alter ego/pen name used to make art outside the usual constraints of my practice and a particularly pleasing combination of syllables and sounds.

So probably options 2,3 and 4. sadly I know nothing of Pictish History. It is an aweseome name and i'm pleased you appreciate it.

I am also amazed by the incredibly detailed work of another Arkady Hodge on the warships of the Mon Calamari.

I found that too! And now I am really eager to know whether Arkady Hodge the Oxford historian is also Arkady Hodge the expert on the ships of the Mon Calamari. It would make me very happy either way, really.
