TFF asked in the Magical Rainbow thread:
Maybe a slow death by dissipation and spawning is the best thing for Barbelith, how much of a community is left to save? How many active posters are there?

I check BBlith every day I'm at work (Equal parts boredom/interest) and make 1-3 pithy remarks per week. The past month or so I noticed maybe 5 or so posts per day, on better days.

I suppose a headcount might come in handy (not that it is likely to change the current perception of the state of the board, but it's good to have some figures, I guess...

Regularly checking at work, but hobbled: can only post relatively short contributions. In all likelihood I'll be around here until the day the domain goes down.

As time goes by I'm more and more aware of what we've all lost now that Barbelith is barelylith.

For one thing Barbelith was one of the few places I could go on the Internet for belly laughs. Sexy party (lest we forget: an orgy) is a good case in point.

I'm still here, but lurking more than logging in, and the place does feel like a disused village hall; you can see that there were once tea dances, and other events, but now there's just the lingering scent of tannin and sadness.

I am also more lurking than posting these days. I've seen many forums run or slow down, so I don't see it as specific to Barbelith. It's more obvious here with so few posters compared to a large forum.

I've been lurking a bit but I've never really been active.

the thing is (potpourri fact alert), I joined when I was a ripening sixteen-year-old, only to find that the water-wings of my dumb teenaged mind couldn't prevent me from drowning in barbelith's vast sea of intellectualism.

I'm still a dumb teenager, albeit a dumb collegiate teenager now. I hope to post more in the head shop and switchboard, specifically; I'm becoming interested in sociology to the point where it's a very plausible major.

On a tangent: Tom, are you blogging or writing online anywhere now? If I've seen anything you've done recently I've forgotten it. I used to enjoy your blog, but it seems to be mothballed these days.
