Much awesomenss. LOVE the "SG" logo... the "S" is just enough of a wave and yet just enough of an S, if you know what I mean. It's a subtle thing. *lol*

Geeeeeeeeheeheeheehee. I'm not going to have coherent thoughts on new Seaguy until months after it's published, I'm afraid. Any time any new news or peaks or the thought alone pops up, my head spins, I start squirming around and squeal with joy. It's like.... it's like love.

..Eeeeeeeheeheeeeeee.

(But I do like this. Seaguy looks so much more experienced, and burdened by that experience somehow. The facial expression, the shifty eyes at his newer, inferior talking animal companion, have such a sad look. It's very fitting.)

Thanks everyone!

Some more artwork.

She-Beard in particular looks awesome.

I'm going to have to spelunk through my collection and pull the first series out for a reread, I think.

These look fantastic!

Seadog's definitely looking a tad more menacing than the first time round. And for some reason I always liked She-Beard's um, beard design from the first volume, and am a bit sad it see the curls replaced by the v-cut(ah, the things you never thought you'd say).

Thanks for sharing Cameron!

The thing I've noticed about your redesigns is the height, Cameron. They don't feel as compact or compressed as the figures from the first Seaguy mini. Was that a conscious decision or have you even noticed? Either way, everybody's looking a bit taller...more grown up?

CameronStewart
05:36 / 23.05.08
No, I think I have a weird natural tendency to draw my characters a bit shorter than the usual "8.5 heads tall" rule. My studiomate pointed it out to me a little while ago and so I've been making a conscious effort to fix it.

Doc's lookin' buffed, and finally with his can of beer. Thanks for posting these!

That's interesting, about your characters being actually drawn a bit shorter - I've always thought that the compacted look(however it was accomplished) added to its charm - it certainly came across in the single issue of Human Target that you did .

Or you could, you know, pitch to Vertigo the idea of a Seaguy/Robocop crossover. Constantine could guest star to make it kosher.

At this past weekend's MoCCA show in New York the guys from The Comic Collective interviewed me about Seaguy and a bunch of other things. The clips are broken up, but here's the Seaguy-related bit. Forgive my shouting, it was loud in there!

Where did you find that? I can't find it on his site anywhere.

There should be some preview pages of the first issue coming very soon. In the meantime, a teaser:

Grant had posted some new content (including that image) in the NEWS section of his web-site over the weekend. He mentioned only being able to show a few things given the push from Editors to hold off until the SDCC, but I guess the push became a shove cuz it's all gone now.

This looks great. Will a release date be announced soon?

Hector, it was my original concept for a cover but it's since been scrapped, so this is just a "teaser" image that will appear for promo but not in print.

No, you see "cover", like the front of a book and comic, and "cover", like a cover of a song, a tribute, a performance of one band's song by another band... oh, suit yourselves. I'm off to Kaballah.

Haus, am I missing something here?

Anyway, it's so nice to see Seaguy back in action. For some reason I always tend to forget just how fun and cerebral Seaguy is. Possibly this has been addressed before, but how long after Seaguy 2 can we expect Seaguy 3?
