Dexter in the Dark

Although the TV-series is much better than the novels (IMO), I've read the two first novels and was really looking forward to the third until I read some of the customer reviews on amazon. Usually there are some good and some bad reviews, but "Dexter in the Dark" got mostly bad reviews.

Obviously the author turned away from the question that made Dexter so interesting - "Is what he does good or bad?" - and went over to turning the Dark Passenger into an ancient Demon that possesses the protagonist.

None of the first two novels provide hints about Dexter being possessed by some supernatural being.

This fantasy-like twist makes me not want to buy or read the third novel. Lindsay didn't even bother to come up with a title with three D's in it.

Have any of you guys read it?

IŽd heard that it was supposed to be bad. But Dexter being posessed by a demon? It doesnŽt make sense at all and it makes the author seem desperate. As is obvious from the TV show, there are so many directions, DexterŽs character can be taken without falling back to such a ludicrous occult idea. Now I know for sure IŽll stay away from the third novel.

Thanks for reading it, Christina, and saving me (and probably a couple more readers) some money and especially time and disappointment.
