Ugh.

Just off the phone with the Accomplice, who has been told that by moving out at the end of December, there is officially no way his mother can continue living there, and must be placed in a facility. The whole situation is real horrible.

In her progressive mental deterioration, she has removed all his legal powers over her situation and placed them in the hands of her money-grubbing sister, alienated him, and as a result he made the move to move out.

Now, even though his moving is assured, she'll be put into a facility and he feels very guilty about that.

Does. She really needs to go into a facility but has always said she didn't want to. I don't know. He's been taking care of her for his entire adult life, sine he was about seventeen (he's 31 now), and the situation's very messed up.

Plus, it doesn't help that everyone around him automatically feels the need to express our opinions, concerns, and suggestions to him, whether or not he wants them. It's really hard not to go into overprotective boyfriend mode and smother him, and our friends are all acting in similar ways. It's stupid.

Not to mention our other friend, who has been denied working papers to stay in Canada based on a technicality, and is looking at even more distance time spent doing a distance relationship.

2008 better be really good, you know?

I'm working on downloading fresh software onto my brand new laptop. I have the rest of the day off from work, and I get to play with the new toy!
