Yes, callous, because minimising the emotional impact of actual miscarriage. (Abortion is generally not reported to be the huge trauma that the pro-lifers make it out to be, but its not exactly a bundle of laughs either.) Only someone from an affluent nation with access to abortion, contraception, and good care during pregnancy would think this was a neat thing to do.

Miley Cyrus, the 15-year-old teen idol better known as "Hannah Montana," plans to write a memoir about her journey to stardom, the Disney Book Group said on Tuesday.
The memoir of a fifteen-year-old. I can hardly wait. I was just in a WalMart two days ago, first time in a long time, and I saw that girl's face on something in every row for about ten rows. I want to hear the story behind that.

This just might be the WTF of the month for me... I thought it'd be from a tabloid or something.

Penis Theft on the Rise: Police in Congo have arrested 13 suspected sorcerers accused of using black magic to steal or shrink men's penises after a wave of panic and attempted lynchings triggered by the alleged witchcraft.

The way they tell the story feels like you woke up on a bad trip version of Harry Potter or a regular issue of Mozy's Doom Patrol. Just wha?

I heard a story from a friend while I was out at the zoo. Apparently her auntie had, a long while ago, an exotic breed of snake. Exotic for the UK at least. The snake wasn't poisonous so quite often it was allowed free run of her aunties house.

One day she woke up and the snake was right beside her, stretched out and stiff as a board. She thought it was dead, or dying, so she took it to the vet who asked her how she found it. So she told him.

He told her to get rid of it immeadiately as it was, apparently, measuring her up to eat...

I've heard the exact same story, so I'm calling urban legend on that one! Still, most snakes sold in the pet trade are constrictors, so it might not be the wisest thing to leave it hanging about the house while she was sleeping.

The finest of all great British institutions, the BBC, excels itself.

Why the seal attempted to have sex with the penguin is unclear.

The 100kg seal first subdued the 15kg penguin by lying on it. The seal then alternated between resting on the penguin, and thrusting its pelvis, trying to insert itself, unsuccessfully.

True story: my own ball python tried to eat me once.

I had him in my hand while I was setting up his cage, and he started to constrict my wrist, while his mouth was gently, experimentally, nibbling at my knuckle.

Fortunately, ball pythons stay pretty small, so I was able to pry him off and get him back in his tank, without much difficulty.

In the snake's defense, it was right when I first got him, and the girl who gave him to me said that he had been severely underfed by his previous owners. I guess he figured it was worth a shot.

I heard a story from a friend while I was out at the zoo.

This reminds me of a fave story; basically, a friend of a friend's parents were on holiday in Greece, and not particularly getting on with the food, or the weather. What they did like though, was the friendly dog who'd meet them every day when they hit the beach. It was a charming, adorable dog, they felt, and after a few days they'd taught it to do a few tricks. Holidays have to end though, so when it came time to pack up and leave, they decided they couldn't leave the dog behind, because of it's cuteness, and willingness to perform. The dog was smuggled back on the plane then (I'm not making this up) but seemed a bit listless on it's arrival back in Bolton. Concerned, Mum and Dad phoned the vet. Who took one look at the dog, shivering in his basket, and informed them that it was actually a long-haired tropical rat, and that it was ... too beautiful for this world, or related.

It's a sad story, in a way, but what I like about it is the idea of a rat that's successfully passed itself off as a dog (fetching balls, having it's tummy rubbed, I dare say even eating Pal) for two whole weeks. To be ingratiating enough to these, I should say, quite straight-laced people, that they'd risk taking him back through customs.

I'm guessing they thought it was an especially friendly, extra-loveable, Yorkshire Terrier. But it was a rat.

I used to find that story quite funny, but now it seems a bit tragic. The rat was only trying to fit in, and so on.

Once, I had some friends, medical students, yeah? They were called Cindy and Prissy but anyway, this one girl was annoying them and so they put a dead head in bed with her - from the morgue - and they locked the door! And they heard this huuuuuge scream when she woke up, and they tried to unlock the door, but when they got in her hair was WHITE and she was just gnawing on the head, she'd gone MAD!

With that hair, ze does remind me of Logan and his funky sideburns. The frog even got a healing factor!

"Being amphibians, it would not be surprising if some parts of the wound heal and the tissue is regenerated," says Blackburn.
