I'm a bit depressed, because earlier today, I tried to show a friend the opening of Beat Takeshi's Sonatine, which is just gorgeous as an establish-the-film shot... and he, having recently relapsed into a state where all things not Disney are inferior and worthless, complained that the film looked like it was made in nineteen seventy-seven.

A lot of good films were made in '77! And Sonatine wasn't one of them, being '93 flick. Urgh! to cheap criticism.

Having never seen the film in question I can neither agree or disagree but im my humble opinion the only cure for a case of "all things not Disney are inferior and worthless" is to quickly stand the person upright and administer a swift kick to the groinal region.

Ive spent about a week working on a Disney themed mural for a child's room and have many more days to go. Im nowhere near a place where I can like anything Disney.

I'm not entirely anti-Disney, but there's no way I'd rank anything Disney terribly high. Except maybe The Rescuers and Ducktales.

It's kinda a sad thing to watch someone go into, because, y'know, there's copies of good movies just sitting on their shelves and you know they used to be cool enough to enjoy them, and now? Disney Disney Disney.

I blame the cooking rat movie, but mostly out of spite.

Its like watching Smallville. You know its not good but becuase of who the character will end up as you impart a bit of undeserved quality to him.

wow. I just wikkied mr.icke and Im glad I did. I seems that he belives that George W. Bush and Queen Elizabeth II are reptilian humanoids. So I should dismiss him as a crackpot but he also includes Boxcar Willie as a reptilian. Thats so insane it must be true. It just has to.
