I am. It hadn't really hit me until I was complaining about my work to someone this morning, and they put things in perspective for me. Double-perspective, since they compared it, not only to my previous gigs, but to their current job, proofing medical journal articles. I may have more work, the pay may not be great, but I get to more or less do what I want in the opening salvos and even if they don't like it, and I have to do something else, I still get paid.

And then I thought of the shift, back in the days o' yore, and, well, I'm pretty sure it was you of the former-MO who told me to get rid of the agent.

Of course, while they were helping me sort my happiness and frustration with a little perspective, I unintentionally stuck my foot in it in other directions. Instead of trying to be encouraging and helpful, I should probably just run with the thing where I tell people 'because I'd screw it up.'

Which, led to her ex-boyfriend, who's decided there isn't any 'ex' in his title, to add to the situation with a phonecall. (Because stalking means love.)

And people wonder why I focus on work.

Oh god. I have one of those horrible "walking in the cold, condensing skull" headaches and Facestab doesn't seem to be working properly when viewed in Firefox today. I don't know why. My head hurts. UGRH.

On the other hand, I have a bunch of line edits and revisions done on this story so I can start doing up the third draft.
