It's been a very calm day for me, plugging away at a story while the libraries close down to protest for a few more hours and everybody sits on their hands wondering if we're actually going to go out for real. I'm happy, at least, that I had today off so I had some time away from the frustration.

So, story time. The Fear has been hovering near me all day, even during the good bits, and it's getting closer. I write to stave it off.

Also, I'm thinking of making poor man's risotto for dinner, as I have chicken broth in the cupboard and an onion in the fridge. Or I could do a nice, spicy dahl. Eith way, it's all about making grains turn creamy for eating.

I'm just watching the amazingly slutty and intriguing Showtime series The Tudors.

Yes, for the most part, wildly historically inaccurate, but good fun. And lots of yummy Jonathan Rhys Meyers nudity.

But soon to bed as I have to work at 6 am.

I'm starting to think it might be easier to build a time machine, go back in time to when it first became difficult for me to write and slap my younger self red raw as a preventative measure than just sitting down with my laptop. Apart from that I'm just peachyaaaarrgghhh

bah, stupid windows installation, stupid lack of sleep and stupi emplyment agency. A day of frustration for the most part, but at least everyone I live with took a day off today so that was nice!

Oh noes, what I mean to say is that I got to hang out with this really cool band from Australia whilst they were here in my 'hood recording an album, and now I'm going, "What music have they put out? Can I order it? Why did I not ask them about that when we were at the Lynchian strip club? And why are they so gentlemanly and cool? Must know more!"

I am engaged so it ain't like that.

Surrealist super-people existing as rumour and hearsay. It stars a character named Templechurch, a reporter pulling on her Lois pants to investigate. It's very loose, I have no idea where it's going but I'm enjoying. I don't tend to write super-hero stuff very often if ever, so it's nice to explore a little even if I'm not doing anything particularly amazing.
