I know it's a little bit out of some people's way, but...

I'm hoping that the line-up is enough incentive.

The venue is The Point. Tickets are available via the link.

I know that my beloved Transfer is our resident and most vocal Cardiffalither... are there any others?

I'm actually quite excited about this.

There's only one option Stoatie, FAKE YOU OWN DEATH.

The last time the Barbelith signal shone in Wales only frequent Bleach thread poster Red Concrete, and our cherised Transfer answered the call.

Haloquin and I'll be a mere 2 hours drive away at that time which, for Wales, is no distance at all.

I suspect that the first thing I will ask of my new bosses will be regarding time off for this.

How will I get there? How will I get back? Irrelevancies in the face of justice!

Well done, Seth!

This must be a bit like being asked to support Love, or The Birthday Party. So an honour, basically.

I probably won't be able to make this, because I've decided never to leave London, ever again, but, best wishes! Play a blinder! Blow them off stage!

Om the other hand, what if Seth's indulging in a spot of ontological terrorism?!!

What if by 'Boredoms' he really means 'Towers Of London'? What then?

Clive either knows or has supported Towers of London before (I forget which). There's at least one band like those guys in most of the towns in most of the countries across the world.

In other news, if there's anyone who can't make the Cardiff show then we'll be supporting Jackie O Motherfucker in Bristol 7th November 2007 (venue TBC) (not that I'd imagine Bristol is any easier for most of you). Another one that I'm rather excited about.

Well, it looks like this is hanging in the balance. Boredoms have a clause in their contract that stipulates that support bands can't use drums. Why this clause exists and what it's intending to achieve is unknown and we've been speculating on it since we heard.

Whether we were booked due to an error on the part of the promoter or the tour manager isn't known either, but it's a bit irrelevant really. What we do know is that the kind promoters are doing their best to liaise with Boredoms as I type this in order for us to remain on the bill. So I guess I'll have to get back to you on this one.

Please go to see Boredoms regardless of whether we're supporting or not, they have to be seen to be believed. There's no other band like them right now.

In other news we have a gig at a Klinker night at the Ivy House in London 26th October, and will be Damo Suzuki's backing band somewhere in London 8th November. Plus the aforementioned Jackie O Motherfucker show in Bristol 7th November.

Support bands can't use drums? That seems a little...precious? Especially coming from one of the best live acts on the planet.

Highly recommend the Damo backing experience. Superb laughs all round.

Well, we don't know why they have that clause. It's useless speculating, but my first thoughts were that the changeovers between bands with a three kit headliner would typically mean a lot of changovers on the desk for smaller venues, which would adversely effect their sound with a poor engineer. Others of us have speculated in different directions, but at this point we just don't know why they have that requirement.

Nice one on the Damo backing too - I'll try to make that for sure - and the Klinker gig too, of course.

Headline acts can be very weird about their stipulations for their support acts, and their agents even weirder.
