Anyone about?

Dare I ask the hour where you're at? (I could look it up, but, y'know: lazy.)

I was just thinking a heading to bed, myself, but no. There's a lateshift. And cold coffee just begging to be reheated.

Nuke Kids on the Bloc

Noice. It is, as I glance down and a little to my right, 9:23. Precisely.

Reheated stuff does taste better in a weird way, sometimes, doesn't it? It gives one the satisfaction of being conservant and recyclee whilst being bloody lazy.

What are you up to besides playing the microwave? I'm writing an outline for a comic series I want to, eventually, get writing. And there's the next episode of Jekyll that I really want to watch.

My god. It's nearly 2pm here...hardly a lateshift.

I'm fairly unimpressed with some people's parenting skills. If your child goes to collections when's he's twenty, he should have to deal with it himself, and it's entirely fair that he learn a lesson in the process.

LATE. FUCKING. SHIFT.

FUCK YEAH.

Erm... I've dealt with a horrible hangover by becoming horribly drunk. Chemically, it makes sense, I guess.

GRR.

So what's the Late Shift's opinion on mudkips? Does it, as i have herd, liek them?

Or would it make more sense if someone just punched me in the face every time I even thought about looking on 4chan?

Tori Amos' cover of Famous Blue Raincoat is astoundingly good.

Just thought you all should know that, what with the tread summary and all.

I actually employed my brother to punch me in the face everytime I looked at 4chan.

I had to kill him.

I lieks mudkips.

I liek Togepi too.

Speaking of 4chan generally, however, it's the Japanophile's John Byrne forum really, isn't it.

We need to get a USB boxing glove on your PC, Stoatie.

Do they make USB bare, bloody fists?
I suppose I'm glad I have no idea what 4chan is, and I'm not going to look it up, either. I followed a link to mudkips, and realized I'd seen them before, but didn't know if they are good, evil, or coyotes (isn't that the middle?).
Glad you're feeling better, Stoatie. I keep meaning to photograph sometime, the personalized license plate I regularly see around here, that says STOAT!
I have no idea what it's supposed to mean.

Stoat-ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH

It means EPIC WIN.

Seriously, 4chan now officially frightens me, since a few nights ago when some guy posted a picture of a handwritten letter, on which lay a revolver and a bunch of ammo, reading something along the lines of "10/25 will see an awesome event. It will involve bullet rush and an hero".

Almost certainly a traditional /b/-style windup, but... I kind of wish I hadn't seen it. Now deleted, apparently.

Although, for TRULY EPIC LULZ, one could do worse than watch this, as it does actually involve a Fox News reporter saying "truly epic lulz" on actual telly.

I've totally gone from the depths of despair to the heights of actual drunkenness with the simple addition of some booze. ACE.

If only I could have reached my camera on Wednesday without flipping over my vehicle, you'd have it now, sir. Really, I see it all the time. It's one of those I want to ask, "just what the fuck are you trying to tell people with that?"

That he or she is TEH JOYCORE. I didn't think you could get exclamation points on license plates, not over here in the UK at least.

Pardon my butting in. That's the kind of thing I have to tell people for a living you see. It rears up and possesses me very occasionally outside of office hours, this worthless advice.

On topic, my conservative viewpoint has always been that a personalised number plate is no substitute for a... personality. And if you want a particular one, you should have to fight for it, stripped to the waist* in a sand-strewn arena for preference.

We should really have a fite that turns into an angry cloud with lightning bolts and fists flying out of it, so we'd have some use for all this comic punctuation.

OTOH, Tsuga, those are some mad ampersands you gots there. I'm sold now and forever.

Barbelith can NOT DIE. Otherwise I'm getting into fights on Digital Spy or frightening myself on 4chan.

The Late Shift is the lifeblood which will keep Barbelith alive. (In other news, anyone in London, I'm going out on the piss with Alex's Gran tomorrow, and anyone who wishes to join us is more than welcome).

It doesn't work if you are witty and erudite, Papers.

Barbelith-Self-Pity isn't for those who just screw up bold tags.

It's for those whose contributions are poo.

Well, generally I reread and discover that Yes, Virginia, I have overused "seems to" or "sort of" or "as" or whatever. Drives me nuts. Or the "no, wait, that's already been said..." syndrome.

I never even get to the "worrying about html" stage...

I always just skip straight to the "fuck, Stoatie, now you've PROVED you're an absolute cock" part. Hey, I get the occasional false positive, but at least I'm pre-armed for the whole "SHIT! Did I really just say that?" internal backlash when I wake up.

Well, as I just put Pacific's brand-new thread in FTVT through the wringer over a misunderstanding of something I read on another board, I figure self-editing is something we're all looking forward to in the promised Barbelith Next.

Is it wrong to be excited about that, btw? I haven't heard many people mention it outside of Policy, where I fear to tread.

To be honest, I think that's true of a lot of the "BARBELITH IS DEAD! LET'S GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!" people. I don't want Barbelith to die... but if it does, I totally want to go where the Barbelith people go.

I think people are giving up early, to be honest...

If we could edit out own posts on Barbelith I think I would have made one post, about 2 years ago, and spent all this time honing it to perfection.

There'd still be an incorrect apostrophe, and a sentence in which I applaud homphobia.
