Hey all.

Just discovered the fatal flaw of escaping to Nebraska: I just received two calls back to back, one to try and convince me to go out tonight, the other, to find out if I'm going to make deadline. Only one of these can be answered with 'I'm sorry, I'm halfway across the country right now,' and it's the wrong one.

Let's just say it's cheaper and easier to say 'Yes, of course I'll make my deadline*' than it is to find a last minute flight counterbalanced only by incredibly cheap drinks and probably the blowing off steam and lots of maudlin rounds of compliments that come after hours of ICD. (Y'know, if it weren't for angry drunks, most disputes could probably be settled over rum?)

*Even if I don't make it, which, right now, wouldn't technically be my fault, since I'm waiting on approvals.

Bus beer should be a brand. Bus Beer, in a yellow schoolbus-like bottle. With actual wheels, so you have something to roll around the table after you've killed a few of them.

Primarily because I love the prospective visual of an entire bar full of people, loaded and rolling toy buses around their tables and across the bar. The Wheels on the Bus as drinking song. Great pick-ups are hidden therein, as well. Also, you could feel terminally mature if you're the one person not drinking a Bus Beer, taking yours in a respectable glass or adult bottle.

I'm in the process of reminding myself that, even if what I do is frequently frustrating and sometimes downright painfully stupid, it doesn't involve being on my feet for five hours at a time and I rarely have to deal with customers as well as bosses. Things I don't miss at all.
