That's two seconds walk from my place. Won't be able to make the first one but can do subsequents.

Two questions, in good faith (it's a bit further for me then it is for Seth, but only a bit):

ONE what format is a moot? Totally informal? Lack of prerelease material would suggest, but the lack of preperation is a feared by my bowels.

TWO on yr flier, you list "seitans." Is there any chance this means you will be providing us witha plural of vegan-friendly wheat-meats? Any chance at all?

Totally informal. Its simply a get-together in the pub to meet new people with like interests for networking, friends or simply a beer or three.

I think you were refering to 'setians' unless I spelded it wrong. None too seriously the poster reads:

"Open to all Pagans, Gnostics, Chaos Magicians, Wiccans, Druids, Capitalists, NLPers, Hypnotists, Sufi, Artists, Freemasons, Tree-huggers, Houngans, Hoodoo folk, Illuminati, Kabbalists, Thelemites, Setians, et al"

Feel free to bring your own vegan-friendly foodstuffs if that's your bag though!

Good luck with this, if the Hobbit was closer I'd be there...

Hi Quantum

I actually live in Chichester which I believe is somewhat nearer to yourself but Southampton is my home town. I'm thinking of expanding the whole moot thingy under one banner with full website presence so maybe there's scope to do something more this-a-way too if you are interested. Don't know how many magic types in Chi but where you hail from I assume there must be some scene? Here is the general direction I'd like to take: Temple M.M.A.

I've seen all the posters up round the Hobbit for this. Shame I can't make the first one.

Pin glad you made it.

Guess who was living one day behind the real date!

If you turned up I hope you had a good time without me *sniff*

Moot will be held 8th May - next Tuesday at hobbit, usual place.

To those who came to the first one can you PM me your emails as the ones I took went 'poof'.

cheers!

Hey dude. You really need to sort out that *not coming to your own meet* thing. Although I did get to meet Roger Waters' next door neighbour.

If I can be there next Tuesday I will. I'll be penniless, so you can buy me a drink.

Dude that's a deal. If I'm not mistaken we may be attending ATP vs the Fans together via a miss Ali Fairy, Dave Grind and Jenny-Pie this fine month....

Bloody hell. You know all that lot? We are talking Jenny Davies the Goblets regular, drinks vodka and coke and is a huge Rollins fan, right?

Sadly I won't be going to ATP. I can never afford it. I hope to play there one day though.

Yus I do mean that Jenny!

What is ATP?

I wish Southampton wasn't so far from here. I should very much like to attend such a pagan meet thingy. Any thingy at all.

ATP is All Tomorrows Parties. It's a big old festival that gets held at holiday camps, usually has good line-ups but has been getting just that little bit shitter with each passing year.

Where are you Lula? Is there nothing at all in your area?

Ah, you're in Brum. There must be some magicky types thereabouts. Or have you already tried the local stuff?

Fotherington-Thomas
09:31 / 08.05.07
Driving down to Soton tonight so hope to see you folks there.
Olulabelle it would be great if you could come. How about setting up your own in your locale? All you need is a chat with a friendly pub landlord and a half-decent poster! Oh and a diary helps too...*looks embarrassed*

Fotherington-Thomas
18:23 / 08.05.07
Oh and if you need a poster you can always use mine and just change the date/place info etc. Jobs a good'n!

The local things in Brum are a bit scary. Plus there is the big Not Knowing Anyone hurdle which I find difficult even to clamber over, let alone jump.

And I couldn't possibly start my own.

Oh dear. This post is starting to sound very much like the 'Yes, but...' syndrome.

I think there are enough pitfalls involved with attempting to contact nice, friendly, sane, non-manipulative people who share these kinds of interests to warrant a few reservations about the way you go about doing it. You have my sympathies. It's only really in the last three years or so that I've had friends I could talk to in person about many of my interests (even music), and if there's no one you know in your area it can get pretty lonely.

Get someone else to do it - You can be the mighty powerz behind the throne and still reap the rewards of socialness!

In all seriousness It's worth doing - you can always advertise initially as a one-off moot so you're under no obligation to meet up with any eejuts that turn up whilst conversley getting the contact details of those you make a connection with.

If I can do anything to help then feel free to PM me.
