Can Someone explain very briefly what exactly is the state of the DCU post-Infinite Crisis, cos I really can't be arsed to re-read it.

4 page thread...most of it actually about the topic

So much for the 'very brief' explanation of the DCU post-IC requested in the title. Although I don't think a 'brief' explanation of that subject is possible...

Quick question... Has it been explained anywhere what happened to the recently-ressurected Jason Todd / Red Mask? Last I saw of him, his throat was accidentally cut just before this whole 52 mess started (which I haven't bothered with.) The issue ends pretty inconclusively, and I haven't seen mention of him in Batman since.

He just showed up in Green Arrow, after masquerading as Nightwing for a while.

Okay- so Batman, Red Hood and Joker were having a stand-off in a building overlooking Crime Alley, Joker decided to do crazy and detonated a bomb, supposedly killing himself, Bats and young Jason. Then, at that very moment, the shiny 'reality wave' (the same one which resurrected Jay-dogg in the first place- see last year's Batman annual) hit Gotham, un-killing everybody. Then, as said above, he turned up in that crappy OYL Nightwing story and has just shown up in the significantly less crappy Green Arrow.

Anybody interested in seeing this whole multiverse thing actually put into practice should probably pick up Ion #10, because...

CRISIS OF INFINITE SPOILERS BELOW

Kyle Rayner, once Green Lantern, now Ion, beats up on a bunch of Daemonites in the Bleed. Daemonites, as in the guys Stormwatch fight, the Bleed as in the shiny red place the Authority's Carrier goes to. Also Captain Atom's there. And the Tangeant universe Green Lantern, Flash and Atom.

I'm sorry, "reality wave"?

Is this the thing that superboy prime made happen when he punched the universe?

was that planned from the start? "okay, you can have jason todd back as a character because we're going to come up with the dumbest and yet most useful explanation for everything ever."

That's a big deal as these things go, I guess....

A few questions:

Was the 'reality wave' symbolised by those issues of DC comics which ended on a page showing a protagonist in all of their different Earth 1, Earth two, post crisis, post zero-hour, elseworlds etc incarnations? From the description above it sounds earlier though but if so I haven't come across it. What storyline was it a part of? I stayed away from DCU for a few years coz of cashflow/unemployment issues before 'infinite crisis' suckered me back in.

Also is 'Supreme' a character in the 'Wildstorm' universe? Perhaps not, as he and 'Magnifico' or what's his name from WILDcats would be too similar. (Both Superman clones) Was he ever a part of that universe? I'm just amused at the idea that something Alan Moore so painstakingly reshaped should now be drawn back into the fold of DC, Moore's corporate Nemesis.

Majestic is, Supreme isn't. Rob Liefeld owns Supreme.

I think the stories that ended with a panel of multiple versions of the characters was Zero Hour, and those issues led into "a very special issue #0" of something, but I don't remember it all that well.

So, I was just reading the Action COmics annual and in the middle there's a two page spread ahowing off Superman's Fortress of Solitude as it is today. The thing that struck me as quite weird was that in his trophy room he has statues of the Legion of Superheros. Not the current incarnation though, they seemed to be sporting their classic, pre-multiple-reboot uniforms. Earth-2 Legion, maybe?

Oh wait, I jsut remembered the panels you are referring to. I think that was the reality wave.

Is it wrong of me to believe firmly that 'Infinite Crisis' would have been better as a oneshot where reality shifts on every page as Superboy hits existence over and over again, yelling, on every page, with every punch, with one more exclamation mark per impact: "Superboy punch! Superboy punch!!" for forty-two pages?

Nothing else. You just restart the DCU using '52' and OYL from there without any further explanation. And if anyone questions it on-panel, the next panel has to be Superboy going "Superboy punch!!!"
