Anyone know anything about this? Around the same time as No Wave apparantly, but super miserable electro stuff. I'm assured that the canadians made exceptional tracks. Gimme it...

Fancy pointing me in the right direction?

Wiki is your friend

I have a goodly amount of Darkwave, though much of it is crap due to importing compilations and having to sift through thme for the quality.

Tell auntie xk what yer after specificly and I'll be happy to make you a mix.

Not that that's a bad thing or anything, but I've always heard darkwave as used synonymously with Goth, or with EBM. Is it a distinct musical form?

I am currently listening to (coincidentally Canadian?) darkwave dude K.M. Krebs and enjoying much.

According to Wikipedia it has been criticized for being Goth for people scared of being branded as Goths.

Never heard the term before today, myself, but it immediately brought to mind the Cocteau Twins' Garlands. One of my favourite albums.

Long ago, it was a point of reference in my circles for stuff like Scorn. Droney and dark and atmospheric, but still (slow) beat-driven.
