Psi-L is working in hell

Getting up early, sitting at my desk with all my paperwork in front of me and then sitting and reading the interwebnet, is exactly the same as a productive day of writing. I even managed to clean my flat and do my laundry...all things that will help me finish my doctorate on time...yes siree.

Reading martial arts websites is the same as training! TOTALLY!

Leaving the money I borrowed to pay off my loans in my current account and slowly eroding it with frivolous purchases is entirely analogous with transferring it into my loan accounts and paying them off.

Or so I have been told.

By me.

If I haven't yet got dressed it can't be time to start work yet. Oh no it can't.

What synchronicity! I´m also wearing my frottee kimono, but I just now finished reading the paper.

Wanking is magik! Money magic! Is that your job?

No, I'm doing free-lance translations. Magyque Wanking is what I do to get the job.

Ahaha! I laugh in the face of all your procrastinations, yes I do.

For I have wrapped the presents!

circling the jobs you want in the employment section of the local paper is surely almost IDENTICAL to actually getting off your arse and applying for them?

Sitting and reading about everyone else dodging their responsibilities is, in some undeniable way, a vital and time-worthy moral lesson for anyone with as much work on their desk as I have now; surely my own work habits can only benefit from this greater awareness of the traps others let themselves fall into. And then I'll see what's going on in Switchboard before stopping off in Temple and Music - a well-informed worker is a more productive worker. And then maybe freshen up my brain a bit in Headshop (I'll need to freshen my coffee first, har har). Then just one quick dust through each of the forums again, in case anyone's posted again since I started, and a last check on this thread to see if anyone's replied to this. Better worker.

Better worker.

Instead of making piles of things to wrap the presents with, a la the previous page, I have actually wrapped them. And I have done the hoovering. I shame you all with my actual doing of things.

I also am not procrastinating (horrible word, we have aufschieben = pushing away) anymore. I am dressed and am busy getting my 100 gb worth of music files in order (twice, on the internal and external harddrives).

Later on, I plan on actually leaving my home for some comics acquiring, followed by indian cuisine.

Quite, I think we should start a new political party to stop all those people who are doing stuff and making us look bad.
Maybe I'll do that at the weekend.

Bah, lula lies like a three tongued worm. I bet there was something else more pressing than wrapping presents and hoovering and petty oneupmanship in trying to shame us. Such claims of "doing things" is naught more than a thin tissue of lies and deceit.

And even if I am wrong, and I'm never ever wrong, it won't last. Soon you'll be on that slippery slope of not really doing what you should. You'll be just like the rest of us once more.

Normally I'd be going to the gym after work. However today I'm going to lay on my back for twenty minutes and then people will give me orange juice and crisps.

The price? A mere pint or so of my ichor.

reading barbelith is almost the same as reading up on relativity on wikipedia, which is, in turn, almost the same as going to grad school.

never mind I'm at work and supposed to be doing...whatever it is.

Writing down the special playlist I put together to encourage me to write this damn paper, posting it to livejournal and then deciding to go one better and make the songs into yousendits is totally making this paper write itself. I swear, every time I flip back to Word and check the wordcount it's longer.

In the meantime check out this great song, "Walk the Night" by the Skatt Brothers.

Staring off into space is definitely the same thing as implementing this kernel ridge regression cross-validation algorithm.

I mean, the code has to come from somewhere, doesn't it? I'm sure that it'll magically appear on the wall any minute now...

If you have to wear the same socks again, swapping them over makes them cleaner.

Also: holding them out of the kitchen window at arm´s length, about five inches away from the neighbour´s balcony and swinging them helicopter style.

I got paid a fiver for doing something that took two minutes the other day. If I did that all the time, what would that make my daily rate?

I've just worked it out and it's one hundred and fifty quid an hour. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
