After being in Spain about two months, I finally have met with A Heart Wreathed in Flame and Lurid Archive. We enjoyed a few beers and a tasty Lebanese meal in one of the roughly twenty Lebanese restaurants in my neighbourhood. There was conversation about Spain and Barbelith and later, the lure of Table Football enticed us into another bar where I promptly lost two games to Lurid (my bragging mind games didn't work). We then teamed up against two Spaniards, who beat us pretty cleanly. Oh well, there will be other nights I'm sure.

So is this a record? Has there ever been a Barbmeet with just two people (who hadn't previously met)?

Heck, yeah. I've went to two 2-person BarbeMeets such as you describe back in 2000 or thereabouts. Those two individuals also constitute the only other Barbeloids I've met in person - we tend to be a bit thinly spread in the U.S.

I met skolld this summer, when he visited Berlin. My first encounter ever with a non-Berlin Barbeloid.

A long time ago, I met two other Barbeloids here in Atlanta.

One disappeared, the other resigned from Barbelith, so no, this is not unusual.

I met Baz Auckland in Toronto in 2002.

I drank too much once and went to toksik's, and barbepuked in his barbeloo, and then slept it off on his barbecouch. I do not think he is aware of the (formerly) discreet puke as yet.

He made me smoke drugs and play him at Soul Calibur, and though I could not speak nor hear, I still won about a third of the bouts.

He is a very bad man.
