Giovanni Sollima going crazy with some classical string tune. First he grows extra arms and fingers, then the video goes into more unusual territory, when Giovanni is having his daydream. And this is only part one.

Some Kyuss

And one of my fave QOTSA tracks Avon (apologies for the speaking bit at the start, but I love this version more than other live ones I've seen.)

I just found a really interesting group which has a lot of old and original clips of Blues Artists. There's even some vintage Leadbelly. Great music to listen to, whether it be day or night.

For some reason I get goosebumps every time I watch this clip. It's such a silly song, but it looks like they're having so much fun on stage, and Ween's always a fun band to watch, I think.

If there's any Slayer fans around, (or if Seth's about, being a drummer and all, iirc) here's something insane.

First off, that Slayer drumming video is really amazing; that guy has serious chops. But also...here. One of my roommates showed me this earlier tonight. To get the full effect you have to watch more than one of the Dr. Hook video's. Maybe it's not as funny to other people, but earlier, after a few beers, I couldn't stop laughing. Plus the eye-patched singer looks like Lemmy.

Another one I keep going back to. I'm not a huge metal fan, but I do love a few bands that are classed as 'metal', and these guys are legends : Slayer - Angel Of Death

(and of course : check the amazing drummer out, etc.)

I think it's time to get my own blog or something, after looking at the amount of times I've posted in this over the last couple of pages. This is a wierd video with a few moments of greatness, but the actual tune is one of the coolest and wierdest I've ever heard, from Primal Scream's Vanishing Point, Kowalski.

Heh, yeah I decided I'll collect this stuff on a blog instead from now on, but before I stop posting so much here, there's another tune from Kyuss, (and I have no clue what the Arnie pic at the start is about.) which is a fucking awesome tune, with a video that's pretty headtwisting and cool, especially when you're half wasted : Demon Cleaner.

Do you not have any interest in saying what you like about these videos, or indeed the bands/songs? In this thread or others?

You mean they're "just so fucking cool" isn't a cogent summation of the entirety of the band's style and output?

Basically, it's great that you love them, or are passionate about their music, it really is. But detail is a wonderful thing.

This one is one of my favorite animation short films ever.
It's a portuguese film, made by Pedro Serrazina. The original name is "Estoria do Gato e da Lua", The english version is "Tale about the Cat and the Moon"

the original one, in portuguese, is here

Ummmmmmm, how should I put this? Ana, I know you're new, and I have to agree that that's a very enjoyable little film, but, er, you are aware that this is the MUSIC FORUM for MUSIC?

There's a similar Youtube thread in Convo, and very possibly one in film. Perhaps you should consider reposting this elsewhere.

Boboss, i'm so embarrassed.
Clearly a mistake due to being new around here.
Now I really looked and saw:

I just clicked "recently updated threads" but then didn't really see where I was posting.
Sorry, and thanks for pointing it out to me.

Not really, I prefer just linking, because I don't like babbling on about tunes, and sometimes rant. Will try and be more detailed next time I post though.

This is a band called
Blasted Mechanism. They exist since 1994.
Karkov is a classic, the lyrics are in a language invented by the frontman, also called Karkov. This is a clip from a live performance, their concerts are electric, i've been to 3 or 4, and they put on a great show. Whenever they relaese a new album they change teir costums - allways between some alienish beings to insects humanoids, or some kind of strange animals.
A better example of their live performance is here with one of the musicians playind a long intro with a didgeridoo.
And this is their lastest video, the song is named "All the Way". Their universe is quite interesting, a mix of profecy, new age, futuristic unreal world, characters and message. The sound blends rock, electronic and tribal influences, they use the didgeridoo, indian sitar, an instrument they invented and called "bambuleco", with 8 strings; the vocalist's influence is notorious, sometimes it's close (in some parts) to some jamaican singers.

Wow, the latest Of Montreal album is good,
very good.
And their main man is crazy: after a nervous breakdown he decided to create himself a brand new glammed-up personality (Georgie Fruit?!) in order to get back on the right happy tracks (he explained it in his KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic session: never have i heard an artist talk about personal issues in such a detached anti-drama queen way)
Well, anyways, now he's fine: check it out!

I love the way the guitar work makes this song sound almost timeless. I suppose a good few people rip Meg with her drumming aswell, maybe because it's not as complex as some other stuff out there or whatever shit, but I think the way her drumming allows Jack's guitar and voice to breathe a lot more is one of the best things about the band : Icky Thump

Those riffs are something else.

That's easily the worst track on the album. Everything between "lalalalalalalalalala" and "you're an immigrant too" is hard to listen to.
