In the interest of keeping the game moving, could we impose a deadline for the build orders, Supa?

Supaglue
10:21 / 30.06.06
Yeah - Say 7pm GMT this evening.

So, who are we waiting on? Just wondering because I'm pretty sure you were waiting for three before I sent you mine. Maybe some have gone missing?

Supaglue

I noticed when processing the order some naughty little urchins forgot to specify whether it was fleet or army that was wanted - if so, its a case of hard cheese I'm afraid - you've got an army.

Map looks like this:

Orders read as follows:

Results for Fall, 1901 (Adjustment)

Austria: Builds A bud
Austria: Builds F tri

England: Builds A edi
England: Builds F lvp

France: Builds A bre
France: Builds A mar

Thanks, Supa!

When should we have Spring 1902 to you?

Just giving this a threadbump so we keep the game going...

Waiting for orders. Shall we say a loose deadline of Sunday 16th July?

Sounds good, Supa. Thanks for bumping, DH.

So how we doing, everyone in?

Supaglue
11:41 / 17.07.06
Got 2 turns in so far...

As suggested by Bryan, I'm gonna change the symbols for the armies on the next map so they're easier to read.

2 to go - Wally and Lurid. LA has been a bit busy I think, but he's promised to get his in shortly.

PMd wally to see if he's about.

BUMP! I'm heading away from the Internet for a few days, so I thought I'd give this a bump/reminder before I left... heard from Wally, Supa?

Supaglue
11:20 / 03.08.06
Yeah, heard form Wally, still one turn to go though. Zhe's got until Saturday evening, otherwise it's hold orders for all their units (sorry, I know yer all busy, but we have to keep some kind of deadline or else it'll just fade out).

Supaglue

Hope that didn't sound snarky - certainly wasn't meant that way.

Unbelievable. After all that my server for my home PC has gone down. I'm told it will be sorted today.

I'm back up and running with my internet at home. Problem is a couple of you have sent invalid moves: Units supporting other units moving into areas must be able to move to that area themselves if they are to validly support.

Christ, now I'm confused...

- check yer PMs and let us have a revised turn (and don't worry, Dipolmacy can get pretty convoluted sometimes when it comes to orders)

Boy, did that cause a few tense moments when I first taught a bunch of friends to play. Good catch, Supa. Glad your compy is in good health once again.

Supaglue
11:25 / 14.08.06
Whew-ee. Sorry for the delays. My server is up and running (which crucially means I can play World of Warcraft again...) and so, here are the turns. You'll notice I've changed the symbols for units so they're easier to read (thanks for the suggestion Bryan). It's pretty simple (A) for army, (F) for fleet.

Anyway, here goes. Double check to ensure there are no mistakes:

When would you like the next season of orders, Supa?

Semiotic Robotic
04:11 / 19.08.06
I'm wondering about the legality of Russia's orders, specifically this:

A stp – nwy
F swe Supports A stp – nwy

The 4th Edition Rules (page 11) state that:

"Fleets in any costal province ... cannot convoy."

Can a fleet in Sweeden convoy?

wally week
18:55 / 20.08.06
I wish you were right, Bryan, but the fleet in Sweden is supporting the army from St Petersburg rather than convoying it. There's a land border between St Petersburg and Norway so the army doesn't need to be convoyed, and the fleet in Sweden could move to Norway, so it's legal. How I wish it wasn't so.

My goodness, I totally read that incorrectly. Thanks for a very perceptive explanation, wally, and my apologies to Lurid for doubting hir excellent strategery.
