Over the last few months we've been talking (very very very tentatively) about adopting a second child.

Know whatcha mean. G and I have often discussed the possibility of adopting. Unfortunately all the offers we've sent to Dermot O'Leary have been returned unopened.

Shame. I want a ginger, so will try for Damien Lewis next.

I do admire people who adopt very small children that need lots of looking after though. Takes all sorts.

If - big big if - we decided to do it, we would go for a baby. I know older kids need parents to, and I admire anyone willing to take them on, but we don't want to run the risk of bringing a child with, er, difficulties into our family.

Selfish I know, but I think you have to be very honest with yourself when even entertaining the idea of adoption.

Fly, I know, it can't be helped. There's so much MINDLESS BUREAUCRACY and WASTAGE and BAD MANAGEMENT in the NHS it's just easier to do it yourself.

How's he enjoying home? Well, I'm not sure he's sufficiently aware of his environment to have much of opinion. If it ain't in skin to skin contact or it's further away than about 25cm (newborns usually can't focus on anything further away than 25cm) or it's not an interesting noise it pretty much doesn't exist.

He seems happy enough, however - he should be, he gets nothing but attention and kisses - and is very active and curious. Unfortunately there is bad mixed with the good.
He doesn't like being naked, probably 'cause he was so very overdue and got more than a little used to the tight safety of the womb, and he pretty much wants to be constantly held. He's also very keen on breastfeeding - perhaps too keen, as he seems to be just as interested in sucking for suckings sake*, as he is in actually having something to eat. Needless to say poor Bobosso isn't getting a lot of sleep, and I'm left feeling super guilty.

All that said, it's lovely to have them both home.

*He has tried sucking on my nipples. It is teh babycute!!11!
