Sky News are running a misinformed and a thinly veiled racist poll that ends tonight (for those of you who don't know, asylum seekers, dispite what the tabloids tell you, do not get benefits or public housing in the UK). The Refugee Council are urging people to vote "No" in the poll, i.e. against making asylum seekers desitute, please support this:

This is very well intentioned of you, Malarki, but I have a feeling that even if every Barbelith member went on there and voted "no", we'd still be outnumbered by the sort of Daily Mail-ers who would shoot to this poll like sharks to blood.

I'm not too sure - I've had details of this sent to me from other sources (mails from friends) as well, so I think this is being mailed around generally.

And when I voted this morning, the poll results were slanted towards a 'no' vote.
