FAVES

Hang-gliding, I reckon it's just about as close as you can get to the sensation of being able to fly.

Snow-boarding, because it takes SKILL to do and it's a lovely-feeling, gliding along, as great speed, with usually-awesome vistas to further get the happy-juice flowing.

Bungee because you're by yourself and, well, I can't put into words how I felt the time I did it. But I LOVED the fact that the raindrops around me were moving slower then me (relatively) and I could see them in their perfect, unshattered states, crystal-clearly. Like a Matrix slow-motion shot.

Rock-climbing is my all time fave. Scaling a wall like a spider and the reward of the view when you get to the top. Awesome. Defeating nature and all that.

I hated sky-diving. Couldn't stand the wind hitting my face full-pelt for thirty seconds, not being able to breathe properly. Very distracting when you just want to take in the map-like scene beneath you.

I haven't gone rock-climbing in years. taking the dogs out on some mountain hikes have been enjoyable but I've sort of lost my interest in the parashooting/bungi-jumping thrill seeking "rush."

I've had some pretty epic camping trips... would BURNINGMAN count?

Burning Man rocks doesn't it? Which camp were you with? (If any). When did you go? I was there last year. First time burner. Fucking blew me away.

Apparently it's not the same the second time, etc. But I want to go back this year anyway.

Burningman is definately a multi year sport. Most people spend their first year being blown away. On their second year it becomes a bit more about what they can offer. Tehn it's about pushing those upper limits.

There's been a few get-togethers on the playa organized via the gathering forum. Personally, with the exception of 2000 & 2001 I tend to skip years in-between pilgramages to the playa. Last time I went was in 2004.

Our camp was called Koosh-Kingdom and we drove around in a 73' long er..comet (more like a sand worm). We served Spaghetti to several thousand burners out of the side of it and offered the occasional ride. It had it's own Light & Sound system and could seat about 50 people; our whole camp. Most of our camp took this year off in 2005 and tickets for 2006 go on sale in a couple of weeks.

Sounds cool. Man, what I love the most about Burning Man, is that there's SO much going on, everywhere, and so much uniqueness, and it's so positive. (Without doubt the most positive place/energy I've ever experienced. It was like, 100% concentrated good-will, in the air, and in your lungs, and then the desert floors and mountains, and the fire and the costumes and the buildings and art installations and mad vehicles...). Oh, that's 8 or 9 things...It really can't be described fittingly though can it? It's like E, you just have to do it yourself.

Did you ever go to Pinky's nightclub? I'm hoping to camp with the Pink Mammoth lot this year, if I go. They're all cool as fuck. Where r u from? The States. Makes it much easier for you eh? I'm UK so it means a long flight and expensive too. But then, you've got San Francisco just next door, a real nice place for the afterburn. To come down and all that.
