Mod voting error screen

The last few times I have tried to vote on any modding jobs I get an error screen telling me I do not have the necessary permissions to perform the request. Then the job is no longer listed as pending.

Is this because coincidentally other mods have voted at the same time?

Yep - it's a glitch. If it's voted on and closed before you vote, the system assumes you're tryign to reopen it, and tells you you can't.

This also happens more than ever now, because we have more mods than ever. It just means, as Haus says, that someone cast the final vote before you.

OK, I have '1 job to do', but when I go to the screen it lists the date as today, the time as 07:18 but it's blank under action type, there's nothing for me to click on. Anyone know what's that about?

I think I had something similar a while ago, crackers. I can't remember what the cause was, but I think closing the browser window and then coming back made it go away.

I think I've fixed it, in that as soon as you have two mod requests in a row including the dodgy one, you can get onto a screen where you can disagree it.

I got it too....

I've got the same problem, anyone know what's going on here?

I got into the job using E. Randy's method, and it was something proposed by Dead Megatron, but all that showed was the "Reference" link and the Reason field.

We should really give DM some sort of prize, ze's managed to create an error that's fucked the board up worse than anyone else before!

Um, I've got that same error that grant's got up there. Also, I can't edit any of the posts in the Robots as manifestations of a nation's racism thread in the Lab. I get that "you do not have the necessary permissions" message like you get when an action's been voted on.

Okay, I sorted out the 1st prob. by doing that thing where you go in the Veiw Page Source screen and look for the link to the job (it was /job.php?id=33205 in case that helps anything). Is that E. Randy's method? I suppose so. But I still can't edit the robots thread.

What's my method? I can't remember.

I suppose it was going to View Source, finding the URL that lead to the job and cut'n'pasting it into the browser.

It was waiting for another job, doing it, and letting the weird one pop up next in the queue.

F. Petey, not E. Randy, dammit!

Ah, right. Well I could have waited but it was annoying me, sitting up there all non-doabley and everything.

Has happened again with a mod request that came in before one from Red Cross Iodized Salt for the music forum. This one is time/date tagged: 24.01.06 22:07.
Is it some sort of malformed HTML in the topic titles? That doesn't make sense....

What is this ghost moderation request?

I obviously can't complete the thing, and it won't go away in my list now. It makes me feel a bit like I've forgotten to do my homework or something. I can't settle.

Convo too. I switched on today and had a job, and thought it would never go away, but fortunately it was just a normal one.
