Board bug re: smileys

In one of grant's recent posts, the board code turned

into

hotos1.blogger.com/img/162/1473/320/Long%2520Beard.jpg">

because the :p turns into a

smiley.

Can this bug be fixed so that code inside tags is not smiley-parsed? Alternatively remove the whole smiley thing altogether - I've never felt it's appropriate for Barbelith.

Smilies are okay but they're so aesthetically at odds with this design that you rarely find them outside troll or joke posts. Mind you it's going to be a little harder to be patronising without them...

That doesn't work for image-posting, though, does it? Especially if you just want to gank the image(s) from the search-page results rather than full-size.

I think Barbelith-appropriate emoticons could be fun, actually. We could have pirate, ninja, badger, martini, frying-pan etc etc... Maybe I should go and post in that thread.
