i'm not sure we need more sheriffs, but we certainly need more janitors.
my concern was not that there was no representative of the law, but that there were posts needing edited for a good few hours at a time. i have volunteered for moderator duties based upon my own corrections being so numerous that i feel guilty.
i get that sometimes moderators can say what is and is not cool with implied authority, but i feel that we dont really want to go that way. i reckon a member of the board saying something should be as valid as a moderator saying it and both should be taken on their own merits.
i am willing to be an authority figure if it is required of me by my fellow members, but i would rather the board was left to self regulate as much as possible.(part of that self regulation will include me saying what i feel, in case anyone is worried i would take a complete back seat. you werent worried, were you? no. didnt think so.) |
