Checking thread, finally.
Since most peeps will be at work until gone 5pm, at least, can I suggest that we don't start major picnicking until then? That way, if you're delayed, MC, it won't affect you too badly, either...
But we can get together earlier in the day, if you want -- call/text me when you get into town. I'll probably be in Kensington mid-afternoon, anyway, and will probably wander along to the Serpentine Gallery around 4ish... The current Rirkrit Tiravanija exhibition sounds intriguing: "His first solo exhibition in London will feature a broadcasting studio within the Gallery from which a serialised radio programme will be transmitted daily on Resonance 104.4FM, with members of the public cast as characters. It will air live from Monday to Saturday at 4.30pm, with recorded omnibus presentations weekly on Sundays at 11am. Tiravanija will also create two full-scale, fully functioning replicas of his New York apartment, each furnished with a kitchen, bathroom, reception room and bedroom for visitors to use."
I am also up for the Frida Khalo, though I am absolutely dreading the horrible crowds, which is why I haven't gone yet. (The Hopper exhibition last year was an absolute nightmare, even though I got to the Tate Modern before it opened!)
Hampstead Heath is nice and local for me on Saturday, but I am open to going somewhere different. There's a fun sculpture at the bottom of Parliament Hill (some nice pictures here). I have seen teenagers climbing all over it, incredibly, |
