So I searched the Temple for threads on Energy, conscientiously not starting new threads unnecessarily, found one, posted on it, lo it did not go to the top. Tried again, still no joy. Verily, am I confused.

Shall I start new threads in future? Is it because it's v.old? Is bumping wrong now?

I just bumped the very oldest Policy thread listed, which serendipitously also had no summary. That worked.

Your Temple bumping issue is an oddity and I profess to being unable to help.

Ah now, if you're searching for threads rather than going through the main index pages, you may be picking up deleted threads. The last-but-one board change essentially duplicated every topic in the Temple and we had to go through deleting them manually. They don't appear on the menu but they still exist and can be accessed via searching.

Is there another thread with the same or a similar title? Try bumping that instead.

Ah, I was about to start a thread on this too... I just posted to the Saul WIlliams/Andrew WK thread and it didn't bump. I did notice, however, that there were two identical threads. I'll try the other.

It might be an idea if people flag these threads up to the moderators of the relevant forum when they come across them, so that they can be locked. On those rare occasion that we delete a thread in Music or FTV&T, it also gets locked in order to prevent any unscrupulous knobbers from abusing the ghost threads 'feature' - you don't really want somebody being able to post absolutely anything in a hidden thread for shits and giggles, safe in the knowledge that the rest of the board will be unaware that it's happening.

Yeah I should probably do something about threads that have been deleted to stop them being used as Ghost threads. But I never get around to it. Sorry guys.
