Had some 'quiet drinks' last night 'cause a friend of mine just got back from Canada... Due to some reason that I still haven't been able to fathom, one particular brand of beer was free for the evening.

I got drunk. Very drunk.

I feel a little bit hungover, but I also still feel drunk, so I'm thinking that in about an hour's time it's going to be coming down in full force.

Anyone find that (red) wine from a particular country/grape/producer gives them a worse headache than others? Spanish wine is, unfortunately since I adore them, often not worth it for me, as 2 glasses will give me a massive pounding right above the sinuses.. The only cure is of course to finish the bottle and get another one.

What always gets me: why is the severity of hangovers not always in proportion to the level of drunkenness attained? I was still cogent by the end of last night, I have all my memories, I did nothing stupid. Why must I suffer so?

I had an awful hangover yesterday. I mean, terrible. Think 800-lb gorilla with a cheap tin drum playing very loudly in your head and it would be close.

There was dry heaving. (Thank God, though, because it could've been worse.) There was an inability to ingest any solid and/or liquid until late afternoon.

I think it was the shots that did me in. Should've stuck to beer....
