Boboss, you've got to understand how rare this is because I'm really not a baby person at all. In fact I usually find them a little off-putting in photo and in person but he is so incredibly squiggable.

So tiny! I could shoplift that!

In actual fact I don't consider myself to be much of a baby person, in that I think they are, in the main, rather strange looking beasties, especially between the ages of 9 to 15 months when their heads get over large and their bodies take on that disconcerting dwarflike stocky quality...

...I better stop, I'm starting to worry that the Bosun's lovely looks are doomed.

In all seriousness, it's really odd being a parent, in that it's almost impossible to get any distance, and look at your baby with any degree of objectivity. I need other people to tell me he's squiggy because I don't trust my own judgement.

He's ten and a half pounds in weight and over half a metre long, with big big lungs - I reckon you'd be caught, sonny jim.

I can see the family features- but in a cute way unlike his uncle or daddy- Bobosso must've added some good genes to the mix.

But then there will be duplo and you'll be too busy building to pay attention to the size of his head and then he'll be older and can have lego roads. Yay! Lego roads!

OOOH, what apposite timing. Check out poppy.ploggle.com for our daughter, who will be a WHOLE WEEK old in 2 hrs and 59 minutes. That means that this time last week... well, I won't think about that.

Christ, Harrison, I forgot you were making a toybox. I think it's likely you'll win the best uncle competition.

Oh, and DUPLO!!!

Safeling, that's one cute little girl. You should post the pictures here.

Great tie li'l Monk!

Boboss, I hate babies, but that is the cutest one I've seen. I showed that picture to some girls here at work and the noises they made were unbelievable, up into the inaudible frequencies that make dogs howl. Some sort of squee noise I think, a bit like a nice version of the skekses chamberlain noise played backwards.

I am way too broody for this thread.

Lil Monk has some seriously good hair. It looks like it really wants to sprout out in many, many different directions.

I dunno, I think he looks very one-year-old like.

Happy birthday Lil' Monk. Glad to see you dressed up for your big day - presentation is important.

Quant, if you want to meet the Bosun in person you should have a word with Mr Gumbitch about his planned b'day celebrations.

How old's your youngest, Handy?

He was four in June. He starts school in September and he's desperate to go.

Took him to his school this week for a story with his first teacher and he was initially so shy I just wanted to scoop him up and take him home. 2 minutes later he forgot I existed.

Kids are cool (which is something I'd debate about before I had any).

Ooops, mis-read that last one.

My youngest was born in November 2005, which makes him almost exactly 8 months old.

The Bosun's getting big! Where's the time go, eh?

Hands, your oldest has an almost devilish smile. Maybe it's the wisp of hair in the eyes adding a rakishness to 'im, I dunno.
