elijah, can't you turn the mod chip 'off' or temporarily disconnect it? I haven't modded my own XBox (played hell getting a free one, and didn't want to risk someone screwing it up), but I understand from people that have that you can turn off most of those mod chips so that Live won't pick up on their existence.

As far as games, I'm primarily on Halo 2, normally on Saturday evening-Sunday morning. I also occasionally make a go at the time runs in PoP 2... right now, that's all I've got. I will be picking up Burnout 3 soon, though.

Is PGR an arcade racer or one of those 'simulators' (i.e., Gran Turismo/Forza Motorsport)?

PGR is more arcade than simulator, but it's nowhere near as Arcadey as Burnout, Outrun, or Daytona; the handling model is relatively conservative, but you don't get that punished in it. It's very fun.

PalefaceX is me, but I'm currently waiting on broadband at the new place. Halo2, DOA:U, Forza, PGR2, Street Fighter 3, are probably best described as "my bag".

Peter Outerbridge - Live doesn't just pick up on mod chips, it can also pick up on modified hard disks. Even if you turn the chip off, it can detect that you've replaced or buggered around with the HD. If you solely use a mod chip for imports, it'd be OK, but media-center-boxen probably won't survive on Live.

Paleface is correct. I dont actually have a chip, the bios is flashed and i have a big ass hd in there to fill with downloaded backups of games i already own, as well as tv, movies and music, which i also own...

Who's playing what on Xbox live these days? I just got my 360 a couple weeks ago, along with Gears of War, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Dead Rising and Oblivion.

So, is anyone playing Gears or GRAW? I still kind of suck at both of them, since Oblivion takes up most of my 360 time, but I'd love to play a little online despite not fully grasping either game as of yet. Is there something else totally awesome you're all playing on Live that I need to know about and purchase? My Gamertag is Nick Whitman, although I'm never actually online.
