Is it more effective because it's silver?

Hello cak7, you really wish you were called cake don't you?

Hello woodenforest, what made you decide to emigrate?

My wife is Aussie and pines for a return to the motherland. Particularly so since the arrival of our two children.

I'm very excited about it, although professionally it's a bit scary.

I just wanted to say that although I've barely said a word, yet, in the month or two since I joined, I am still here, and am reading Barbelith roughly every other day. I've not had much to say for myself because every time I think I have something to contribute, I find that it's already been said by someone else!

Hello, introducing myself too. Name's Dylan. What? I like my real name. I'm 21 from the US, psych major, music slut, playing and listening, book glutton and manipulation connoisseur. Bit of an occultist for a looong time now. And not, I was never a wiccan. I'm a Camus and Salinger fan, to name drop. I'll be flitting about the Temple and Headshop with frequent forays to the Books, Games, Music and Switchboard areas. Meaning I will, hopefully, be a busy little bee. Later all

Hi, I'm here with yet another introduction. I'm 39 and in the northwestern US. I've been lurking here for a few years. Now that I've signed up I suppose I'll have to actually engage in dialogue. I'll try to keep the racket down. General interests include Linux & programming (my profession), reading (everything I get my hands on, currently loving Vernor Vinge), comics, music (just saw a performance of Albert Herring, then Dengue Fever within days of each other, so I'm all over the board), and various other things that will probably come up later.

Hi, I'm Triplets. I'm 24 and north-westerly in location if not necessarily in spirit. I found this place a while ago and found it engaging. I'm interested in architecture, comics, indie rock and jazz hands.

I hope to bring, to Barbelith, frank and energised discussion about Dr. Manhattan's penis.

Hello Triplets, and welcome to Barbelith!

Having read Watchmen, did you notice, that in at least one scene, Dr. Manhattan has more than just one penis? Do you think, the good Doctor felt the need to compensate? Consider his admiration for the largest mountain in the solar system!

I wonder, how they will handle this subject in the upcoming motion picture.

I think there's something to be said for the idea that control of Barbelith admissions might be handed on to the next generation.

Hellllo people. Long time listener, first time caller. I've been reading the temple on Barbelith for about a year now, and have found it a very useful tool in my own burgeoning magical practice. I maintain a blog dedicated to the ideas I'm working with and growing.

I'm 25, into just about everything from fashion, to comics, to movies, to music.

It will be weird to go from just reading Barbelith to interacting with it, so hopefully that goes well.

Anywho. Hi.

Greetings all,

I'm CJ, and I happened on this site after happening on www.randomwebsite.com. After crossing the Kalihari salt desert for the requisite initiation, I'm now a proud new member.

I am a near-30-year-old female, which means I'm on the brink of maturity, so maybe I'll actually contribute something meaningful. We'll see. Betters form a line, please.

Things I like: Terry Pratchett books, Joann Sfar graphic novels, (along with any high quality graphic novel, really), listening to NPR in the morning and BBC news online, engaging in political jousts, (complete with giant Q-tips), and I don't know... Gorging on chocolate occasionally.

Things I don't like: People who write checks at the grocery. Bad TV. Poor restaurant service. Not enough chocolate.

Cheers.

Hello!
I agree, don't be afraid to post, just look at the faqs and try. Some more posting would be good about now.

Hello, everyone.
I've just registered on Barbelith, although I'm a semi-regular reader.
Actually, I've been following it for quite a while... three or five years at least, I think.

My main interests are Magick, pop culture, comics, role-playing games and stuff like that.
I'm currently reading "Batman RIP" and "Final Crisis" and just finished reading "Flex Mentallo" - still, my favorite works written by Grant are "Animal Man" and "the Invisibles", of course.
I didn't dig "the Filth" very much, though...

Well, that said... I'm here.
And I'm very pleased to meet you

Welcome Doctor enjoy the place whilst it's still here.

If you fancy chatting about RPG (and Zod knows I do) then pop into Games, there are plenty of threads in there to join in on.

hello; first post after a long time of listening in.
i am a twenty year old student (bah!) blighted with both inquisition and malaise! so as such i work in bursts. i'd just like to say a big thank YOU to all you guys and the barb in general as this was a great resource for widening my thinking for my cultural studies exam a few months back. as such i am indebted to you all and hope to make some positive contributions!

i like a bit of everything music-wise; although i glean more valued listening with classical/jazz or anything a bit progressive.

other from that i'm a self taught guitarist and 8 year struggle-taught drummer.
i'm here!

I actually lied when I said I was going to lurk some more before posting again, but I won't be lying if I say it again at the end of this post.

Hi.

Now I'm going to lurk some more before posting again (really).

Hello Hello, I have come at last! I am the chosen one...

Just kidding.

Finally my registration is complete though, I have been lurking this turf for quite some time and I hope I do not nauseate you all with my ranting if I come out of my shell and post enough.

I hope to contribute something

Hello All. First timer here.

I'm a practicing chaos magician, and have frequently turned to Barbelith for guidance. For some reason, I've never felt quite...ready...to submit an application for membership. Never felt prepared to contribute to this community. Well, things in my life are changing rapidly and I think it's the right time.

In my professional life, I am a career animator and incorporate magickal concepts into my work. I do run a website about it (but I am dreadfully fearful of getting banned for link-dropping).

As far as hobbies, I love deconstructing games, books, comics and film (including animation) to find that memetic "spark."

I am dangerously overjoyed to be here on Barbelith.

Hi Ezara,
Welcome, I personally would not be afraid af you likning your site, but maybe do it in creation and ask for feedback...
I would love to see it, and you could PM me the link...
Maybe you could check out My previous thread and throw your two cents in...

It's very unusual that we ban people. Mock, complain at and generally mistreat, yes. but if you are fairly thick-skinned and don't actually deny the Holocaust, you're usually golden.

Hello everyone. This is my second post and even though the mood in the forum is very low, I have great hopes for this community to grow and be the great haven for all of us.

24 year old colombian freak, really hoping to contribute actively in this place. Please bear my poor redaction and grammar, it's been a while since I last wrote anything in english.
